GTA definitely isn't the shining example of having choices. But how is the decision to kill Playboy X or Dwayne not really a "choice"?

You seem to imply that because one option seems more rewarding than the other, there is no choice? Even when you're playing for the first time without knowing the outcome? That is the way some choices work though, the reward is not always balanced and the effect is not always deep. Sometimes the most rewarding choice might no...

Some games do alright with the choices such as in the Witcher. But all in all, it's not easy to create moral choices because you've got someone who will come along like "what if I don't agree with the morals", and they can't accept that the morals have already be decided by the in game community.

To have real moral choice, you need to account for more than action. You need three things to get to a meaningful world reaction from a choice... (Intended ...

Patriotic people are betrayed by their country's leadership all the time. And seeing the mission through regardless is about loyalty to the ideals of the homeland, even if it means betraying your personal convictions. Patriotism is not easy, it's not just flags and flowers.

I would think that isn't too relevant. UE3 is more widely licensed and used in more game genres. I also suspect it's easier to build a game on, so this is good news for those who invest their resources into this engine.

Imagine the type of challenges involved with international ownership accounts. Will you be limited to your local national cloud? And if you by from a foreign cloud, who's laws are both parties subjected to, and what are your rights? Will people buy into it if the standard contract tells you that you have no rights and the could could disappear at any time?

People can deal with digital movies and music more easily because it's non interactive media that can be easily a...

There wasn't much of any "Hardcore intense and in-depth rpg elements" taken away when going from Mass Effect 1 to Mass Effect 2. At it's core, it was essentially the same. Go recruit people for a mission, level up, buy stuff and win. That entire system never changed. And of course you can optionally chat it up with your teammates until they tell you about their "problem" so you can solve it and gain their loyalty and extra power.

Maybe people were...

The bar wasn't set very high with XIII. For me, that was the first FF game that I didn't replay, and the first FF game I've ever sold off when I was done. And it made me look at XII as a great game in comparison. I didn't exactly dislike the characters in XIII, the battle system and game set up just simply wasn't fun for me.

In terms of comparing the PS3 to PCs, people take the terms "inferior" and "superior" too far to heart. Sure a capable PC can always win, but when labeling the PS3 as inferior it exaggerates the wrong idea into some people's heads so much that they are surprised when they see it's less detailed but not that bad at all if you're looking to just play.

I think you're seriously overstating when you say a medium range computer with DX11 running a game on medium would look "way better" than on consoles. I gamefly'd Crysis 2 for PS3 and having not yet played it on my PC, I had nothing to complain about visually because there were no MEANINGFUL visual shortcomings worth complaining about. I liked it and decided to get it for PC but I wasn't about to get a new PC. I have a laptop I bought for $1700 two years ago with an 8800...

So there are zombies present, yet you find it weird that people can actually run and shoot? There's nothing wrong with that if there's a proper accuracy reduction.

Just being stronger or more intelligent doesn't mean there is nothing to fear. There is always a weakness. It could set up a false sense of security until you run into something that actually is stronger, or faster and possibly at the same time vastly overwhelming in numbers. We don't know what kind of dark & hard to see scenarios will be used at times. It's hard to hit what you can't see. For all we know, the player might find themselves in a pitch black series of dark co...

I guess they expected PC gamers to put work into modding GTA4 into RDR, they would really appreciate dedication like that!

I would love to see some real RPGs. Imagine an Elder Scrolls or Fallout game complete with mod tools!

Everything was underwhelming to me. Everything good that was shown was already things we expected. Except, Sony did drop a great value bombshell with the 3D tv deal which I'm unfortunately uninterested in (I'd rather buy games, my HDtv is sufficient).

I also feel like Sony spent too long on the PSVita. I really didn't want to hear about it as I'm over mobile gaming (If I'm out of the house, that means I have other things to do). However, their show strate...

I have it on PC and would have bought in on PS3. I was just fortunate my audio production laptop had a graphics card that could run Witcher 2 on low. Just having a PC doesn't guarantee a superior experience.

Hmm... I'm enjoying Witcher 2 just like I did the first one, but the game is definitely not innovating.

I played the Infamous 2 demo and I can say that the first game wasn't inferior as in worse in every possible way. It's just different. When you get to the second game the main character is usually settled into their role and it's business as usual. But in the first one, the pacing is different with Cole having to learn his role.

Gamefly has been great for me. 2 days to reach me, and 2 days to send back to them. Every brand new game I've wanted I've been able to have the day after release by putting in my Q early and they ship the Monday before release which gets it to the mailbox by Wednesday. If you like it, wait a couple days then hit keep to get it for the used price, which could bring the price of the game down to about $45 practically new if you have the %10 discount and $5 coupon. And they send you the ...
