Action is a core aspect of Dead Space, even the first game. Players are encouraged to learn how to properly dismember enemies, throw their body parts, shot explosive sacs, melee, and use a pretty powerful array of weapons. Sometimes you would be locked in a room until you killed all enemies, no hiding or running away to survive was allowed in many cases. That is action, and they are expanding upon it.

In video games where combat is a possiblity, as unfortunate as it may be, u...

The idea of developers having one system to work on and code for is what companies like Nintendo, Sony, Sega, and others had in mind when they created their own consoles and put in place first party developers to create games for them. It has already happened, and over time they create better products for the aging hardware. Sony developers only develop for Sony consoles but it doesn't cause Sony hardware to advance any faster. Same for Nintendo & Microsoft. The evolution can only mov...

Developing for consoles gives developers a safe bet of stability for at least 5 years to know exactly what hardware they're developing for. Sometimes sacrificing accelerated progress is necessary for fortifying efficient coding and optimization during the period of stability or it will soon catch up to everyone later.

The PC only developers can push ahead alone if they choose, but they have only chosen to go ahead at a pace they can afford and are comfortable with.

I feel like we have dumbed down A.I. because developers aren't putting resources into advancing A.I., but instead they just set up multiplayer arenas and let random people kill each other hoping nobody notices.

Evil already went global, next it goes galactic? Resident Evil meets Dead Space. Oh, and time travel.

I think so. And this year has had quite a few.

They need some new people for "being weak". The main cast is too experienced now. Leon is skilled enough to be entrusted to save the President's daughter. Chris has a giant BSAA squad, and along with everyone else who has the maneuverability of MGS4s Old Snake, fighting zombies is all in a day's work. Even if those zombies now use firearms and know squad tactics.

This is a great "Metal Resident Duty: Solid Call of Evil Gear" game.

There's always room for improvement. I'd like to see them keep everything they have now but also explore some real time space combat. Also, Mass Effect has primarily been a shooter, but they could explore some true melee classes with combos and everything.

Hmm... It would be truly epic if you could visit civilized areas on a planet and explore GTA style, with local vehicles, activities, all that good stuff that makes a world feel alive.

I think people need to give it up on expecting RE to be old school survival horror. As long as the story continues to move forward (excluding prequel or spin off), all the player characters we recognize are veterans at fighting zombies and will come to the fight prepared.

The greatest horror experiences in a game are when the player's character experiences first contact with the horrific opposition has no idea what is going on or how to deal with it. That's no longer...

It's not "low" to use violence to sell then? To me, exposed skin does not = sex.

Just for fun, can you spot the irony in the following sentence? "The stealth kills in the video were pretty nice, just the sexual tones killed it a bit."

Stealth (kills) = (nice)
(sexual) tones = (killed it) a bit

I won't pretend that I don't understand what you meant though, Hitman was always about the stealth and the kill...

@Soundslike-

This game felt alot like the real crime plots that Rockstar seems to be good at, simple people acting with simple motives usually involving drugs and money. The Brancos were not a very fleshed out bunch in terms of character development but we saw them as being just as artificial as Max saw them which was the point IMO, party people, politics, money, and crime could describe their lives. Not only that, but Max tells you himself, his connection to them was purely ...

With this being the longest lasting console generation so far, I'd say early adopters have definitely got their moneys worth. No need for a new console gen just yet, we're at the golden part of the console lifespan when developers have hit their stride and realize they can't wow us too much more with shiny graphics because of limitations so they focus on gameplay and story telling. The PC is there anytime if you need your graphics fix. And if the developers on PC are confident in ...

Nothing wrong with that. Gamers like to game.

The WWE license is probably one of the most prized portfolio holdings they have right now. Yearly release schedule with a known established brand that brings millions of "potential" customers with tons of advertising during WWE programming.

Felt like another United States doing something somewhere in a sandy place game again... but Dubai is a little more upscale of an environment even in the condition the game portrays it. I can tolerate the gameplay, and the demo has me at least slightly wondering "How" and "Why" about the plotline enough to give it a chance. It's up for some tough competition to get a purchase from me. It might earn a rental.

@Psychotica; People can get excited over it like a contest because what matters is that the fans don't know the outcome ahead of time. Same as any other scripted TV show. You can give it your best guess, or try to predict it based on past events but every now and then there's a complete unexpected turn of events and in the end you just don't know the outcome anymore than you would in a real sport.

The "Freemium" model has destroyed what fun I thought mobile phone gaming could have been. They give you a gimped version of the game before you pay for what you need to progress and they tell you it's hard to complain about free...although on mobile phones you are at least initially paying with your personal information which has value (always check those permissions you grant).

Great response. It always amuses me when someone points out that a tv show isn't real as if it's a grand revelation. It might have been more surprising in the 80s, but today? Am I supposed to be floored with dismay? I haven't watched WWE regularly in a while since all my favorites are gone from normal action but I went to WM28. Great to see HHH, Undertaker, & The Rock all in action. Seemed more "scripted" rather than "fake" to me though...lol
