The real gripe I have is that games like GTA V don't have to be entirely dumbed down. Would it be so hard to included a top tier difficulty mode that makes you visit specified locations to get to a save point, no convenient checkpoint spawns, harder health & ammo management, more or less enemies and varying A.I. intelligence. To me, it's developer laziness, not simply the demand of casual gamers. Both hardcore & casuals can have suitable game mode mechanics programed into a ga...

Nice way to blame the consumers/market. Simplify the entire experience to attract the money of uniformed gamers so that the difficulty doesn't intimidate them instead of educating consumers on the fact that an easy mode exists in a complex game and it's still a good purchase. The way I see it, dumbed down games are easier and cheaper to develop. An easy simplified mode can always be programmed into game with a deeper complex gaming experience.

Very true, what you said about JRPGs. But I long for the day when a game with the visual polish of a Final Fantasy can cross with the customization and living world feeling of an Elder Scrolls title (many different class stats, home buying, interactive dialogue, killable npc citizens,...etc) . Then throw in the battle system from Dragon's Dogma and we're good.

Killing Michael only made sense because Westin wanted him dead for causing him trouble and losing his secretary.

I think the solution would have been tailoring the outcomes of A/ B/ or C to the amount of effort and preparation the user put in.

The endings could be based on how well you developed each character's stats, or if you hung out with them.

Ex. If Franklin choose to kill Michael, then knowing that Michael has the initial highest ...

It was a bold direction they took. Seemed like Rockstar was aiming for a down to earth dysfunctional buddy flick type of thing where everything pretty much is as it appears. There weren't any bosses or handlers to really speak of, and all their troubles were pretty much self made. Mostly beginning with Michael tearing down that house, having a troublesome family, then getting sloppy with the little phrase he said, and Trevor just going around messing with people.

The su...

It's not that Franklin was any more or less important than Trevor or Michael. They were all likable in my opinion. But It's just that Franklin was more low key and didn't really cause the FIB, Merryweather, or anyone rich to explicitly order a hit on him. Of course, option C would put him in trouble but unlike Trevor & Michael, he was aware of who would try to kill him ahead of time and could arrange to counter it.

Hmm.. I give Skyrim a pass, not really having an ending other than concluding story arc, it's just a big game. Some of the dungeon quests are more interesting than the Civil war & Alduin stories.

Was the Uncharted 2 ending really that cliche? These days that would probably amount to an ending with everyone dead except for Nate, and he becomes a snarling emo as the world comes crashing down around him just as he vows revenge for his losses in the next darker sequel.

With Amazon prime you get free two day shipping. But by "free" it means you kind of just prepay the shipping with the yearly fee of $79 and you get free shipping on eligible products which are most of the popular items. If you order alot it can be worth it, and you get access to their video streaming service Amazon Instant.

I don't think I could call it a "popular" horror series. It really was pretty obscure and I picked it up the first one for PS2 by chance from a bargain bin. It was a fun co-op experience and had some pretty suspenseful moments. Even the cheesy characters were kind of fun. I really loved the Olivier Deriviere soundtrack to the second game especially tracks like "Bad Behavior" and "Corruption with Rage & Melancholy"(He posted the music for free on his websi...

I wasn't a fan of Konami/Zombie Studios version of SAW. The movie franchise (especially the first two) are more character and story driven. I would like to see Telltale take on the SAW franchise. I'm sure they could turn some of the suspense of the choice making and traps into some horrific moments for the gamer after seeing how they handled The Walking Dead.

I'm not going to say the criticism was warranted but the teaser was not brilliant and was likely intended to spark controversy for the sake of generating internet buzz which plenty of people are willing to give into on either the criticism side or in defending it. Even I'm writing this comment. But it did not make me wonder what's going on and wanting to follow the game. It just left me without any particular impression about it and I might hear more about it when some gameplay is...

I think PC gamers (especially owners of mid range to low end specs) can be thankful for the side effect that the extended console cycle of the PS3/360 generation has had in keeping those low to mid range PC specs relevant for so long this time around without the immediate need to upgrade.

Good for the developers. Question is, have they squeezed out every bit of juice from their creative story writing & gameplay developers for what they can fit within current specs?

I think THQ did a pretty good job with UFC Undisputed 3. I'd like to see a company like Crytek try an MMA or Street fighting game but with revoutionary graphics and a completely made up but believable cast of characters. And be sure to included a create a fighter mode.

Obvious race baiting. Not even a legitimate use of "the race card". But it's designed to get everyone riled up to play the "Counter race card"-card.

IMO it turned out to be a good game. Sure, same engine, mostly same everything but MW3 let me down in both single player & multiplayer. Black Ops 2 has the best campaign in awhile an the multiplayer is just fun, and I like the character loadout setup of choosing any combo of 10 things. Nothing like a little Nuketown 2025 to top off a long day.

Of course this doesn't stop me from enjoying Hitman, AC3 & Farcry 3, but I don't play them for the multiplayer.
