Apparently not. In Alan Wake's case, it doesn't need a release date, to have been CANCELLED. :O
Your "friend" is a moron. In 2004 (a year before the 360 launched), you could get an XBOX for $200 (much less, used)...games were $50 each, NEW. IF he actually paid $400 for an XBOX and "a couple games", then that's HIS fault, for being a stupid, irresponsible consumer.
...that' lame as hell. I'm almost done with my 2nd play through, trying to finish it on Extreme. If you want a "challenge", play through the game using nothing but your plasmids, and the wrench;you won't last long...especially against the Big Daddies. :p
...you just do the ENTIRE BALANCE OF THE GAMING COMMUNITY a disservice, by continuing to milk your cash cow. Thanks to the PS2, a ton of "new" 360/PS3 multiplatform titles, have been nothing more than crappy PS2 ports, with slightly better graphics. If Sony had dropped support for the PS2, devs would have been FORCED to learn the PS3 architecture earlier, and thus wouldn't be churning out crappy, buggy games for the PS3. That's right...it's SONY'S fault that devs have such a stee...
...Heavy Rain, The Getaway 2, and 2 Days 2 Vegas are never coming out either. What an idiot. :o
No news, simply means the dev is working too hard on the game, to be bothered with creating trailers or demos, or presentations for a conference. Remedy is a VERY small studio.
MGS4, GT5, GOW3 (+ GOW:CofO for PSP), Ratchet & Clank:(insert name and/or PSP variation here), Resistance 2 (only 2 years later...even Halo 2 had a 3-year gap). Not to mention, whoring out the PS2, well beyond it's relevance, just because the PS3 is struggling.
Yeah...MS is the one milking cash cows. You've been served, b!tch. :o
....something PS3 owners are USED to, by now. I suppose turnabout is fair play. ;)
...Apple and MS have a working relationship, as do MS and Sony. Have you seen the new Sony HD flatscreen monitor commercial, which displays Windows Vista Ultimate at the very end? And EVERY VAIO runs Windows. And most MS execs use Macs in their offices...not to mention, the alpha 360 dev kit was a Power Mac G5.
What was your point again?
I guess Sony hadn't heard that MS will soon allow games to be stored on the HDD...which would nullify the disc-changing problem. Fact is, since FF XIII coming to the 360, there's NO REASON that MGS4 couldn't happen as well. Both games will use a ton of disc space, with a ton of in-game cutscenes. Sure, the 360 version may be considered undesireable, compared to the 1-disc version of the PS3...but it's still "possible".
But not likely to happen.
...still sucking on MS' hind teet. :p
Memo to Bungie: If you TRULY want to be "independent" from MS, DON'T CONTINUE TO LET THEM PUBLISH YOUR GAMES. Dumbasses. :O
...the 360 ALSO functions as 2 things: an HD games console, and a "near-HD upscaling DVD player". :p
...in 8-player squad format; not as impressive as it seems at first glance. There won't be any 256-player deathmatches with this game. It basically takes what Resistance 2 is doing, and expands it through the servers. And, BTW...as some have mentioned...that WAS NOT gameplay...not even a little. Just like with K2, it may be a couple more YEARS before we see any real gameplay.
...just one more reason why Nintendo sucks. They seriously just do not understand what social gaming is about, or how to implement an effective online strategy. The only thing they really understand, is how to continue raping their loyal (and blind) fans, by repackaging old technology, and reselling it as "new"...at a much higher price.
...I LOL'd at that myself. North America is a CONTINENT, not a COUNTRY.
Regardless, that's still impressive, considering it's such an unprecedented launch. I'm interested to find out what types of "real prizes" can be won, other than the obvious MS points, LIVE subscriptions, etc.
...try not to let your blind ignorance get in the way of an adult conversation, please?
Allow me to put this into simple terms, for a simple person: Let's say MS is the Boston Celtics, and Sony is the the NY Knicks. It's the middle of the 3rd qtr, and Boston leads by 30 pts; however, at halftime, NY was down by 42. Now, is NY "winning", or just starting to close the gap? :o
In the gaming industry, 10% of the games available being "good" is about par. Expect more, and expect to be disappointed. :o
...if you can name 10 PS3 games that are worth mentioning. :o
...perhaps you didn't get the memo: Valve hates the PS3. They aren't even concerned with patching Orange Box for the PS3 (mainly because it sold so poorly on the platform, and PSN integration sucks, compared to LIVE)...they sure as hell aren't worried about releasing more content anytime soon. :o
How dense can you be? 0_o
...since my cable provider gives me free DVR, included in my set-top digital box. I record stuff all day long, while playing on my 360. :o
