Atm it is quite cheap to build a good solid gaming PC. It just offers more than Consoles and alot of people start to realise that.
What Valve is doing should bring more people to PCs. I mean they are not just making another system, Steam machines are PCs. Valve just wants to have a backdoor should MS decide to shut down gaming support for windows or block steam or something like that.

I bought the ps2 games (own the system) but played them on pc later when emulation was pretty much flawless. The other titles? Im not prepared to buy 4 different system just to play one series. Thats a fail on their side imho...
Well if you talk about PS2 games, you could just play them with an emulator in 1080p. You kinda get the HD remake that way. I played the whole KH series this way.
Yeah well I'm not an exclusive PC gamer, I'm just a gamer ;) I had a Wii, now replaced by the Wii U. And I spent alot of time with both of them, and still do of course. Donkey Kong Country Returns is of my favorite titles from the last few years and Tropical Freeze is incoming :)))

I agree. Many PC gamers are just sick of getting lame ass console ports that use about 20% of the power their PCs have... it sucks ;)
I'm a PC gamer and I hope the new consoles are AS POWERFUL as possible. Because the PC games we get will mostly be limited by what the consoles can do. So i actually hoped that ps4/xb1 would have a bit more power under the hood.

PC will always be better in terms of graphics&power. You can't release a console in the 400-500$ price range that somehow magically outperforms PCs that cost 600-1000$. Not while making a profit at least, it's just simple math :)

Be careful when comparing an x86 system to a powerpc. You can't say look at 8 cores vs 3 and 8gb vs 2gb. Those things are the most insignificant parts when you compare processing power.
The problem I see with wii u is that it's gpu has some missing directx11 features. But it's all speculation we do not know enough about it at this point.

Xbox 1 is a better deal at Xmas because it has way more interesting games at launch.
But both of the line ups such ass. I'm happy with my pc and wii u but If I could get another console I'd get the ps3. So many good games. The ps4 will mildly entertain for 2-3 days (killzone) and then what? And all the multiplats have amazing graphics on pc or better gameplay/map features on wii u.

Reviews are opinions. And games like these show that opinions can differ. This game is basically all story so it gets even more subjective.
I mean things like controls can be measured with terms like accurate, responsive/unresponsive, slow, fluid, layout, complicated etc. Also graphics are pretty easy to judge (not the art style!), textures and stuff.

You only need that kind of card if you play above 1080p. You should buy your video card with your specific monitor in mind, not just because of raw power, unless money doesnt matter.
