Assassins Creed is an awesome series. AC IV is kind of a reboot though. It focuses on a different kind of gameplay and in terms of story they basically can do whatever they want.
I'm not sure if they had planned out the whole Desmond story arc from the beginning. I'm pretty sure before AC3 they were not sure what to do with him anymore so they decided to kill him off and start fresh. And that is a good thing imho. Because they definately have the capazity to write amazing char...
If you can afford a 4k TV the money for a system that can handle 4k movies won't be an issue...
Now 4k games is a different beast. You already need a crazy system to play in WQXGA etc. (with multiple monitors), so I don't think you can build a system right now that runs stuff like Crysis 3 with acceptable framerates in 4k.
And as with smartphones/tablets it gets more and more ridiculous with the resolutions. At a certain point it's our eyes that a...
Ah the PS3... Such amazing games coming to it. And it has become really cheap too :)
PS3 is the way better deal this x-mas season than PS4. GranTurismo 6, GTA V, TLOU, Beyond: Two Souls... I think i'm gonna buy a cheap&used ps3 after ps4 has come out :)
Its such a shame there is no backwards compatibility...
Doesnt make sense at all. Microsoft, what are you doing...?
Can't help it, but I believe this is their thought process: If they can't buy XB1 controller for windows they are more likely to buy a XB1.
When in reality it's more like: Cool, PS4 controller works with windows, I'll get one (they already made money). And then later: I wanna buy a console, hmm I already got the controller for PS4, that's what i'll get.
Can't wait :) It was a good decision to get a WiiU.
not worth getting a ps4 for this, its just another pretty shooter. But I guess it's a big deal on console to get your first 1080p/60fps shooter?
And this is the only remotely interesting ps4 game atm...
What people often forget 60fps needs ALOT more power than 30fps. Not just a little optimization here and there, ALOT.
That is one reason we won't see such a huge boost in graphics when switching to the ps4/xb1. We'll have bigger levels yes and more stuff in it but that is mainly thx to the bigger RAM. When you want up the resolution and rendering speed from 720p/30fps to 1080p/60fps you need alot more power. I'm speaking from over 10 years experience in PC gaming (my first...
@chrischi finally someone that is thinking. Ps4 and xb1 is not all that exciting at the moment. But Alot of people here do not see that because they fall for the marketing hype. Especially with ps4.
Same goes for Sony. The early ps3 years and vita cost of them Alot of money.
QUOTE (n4g still has not a quote system, really?) "It is incredibly short sighted to base an opinion of a console only by judging its launch games."
I absolutely agree with you. That was exactly my point. But that is what makes me angry. People judging the WiiU because of it's first 6 months and praising the PS4 that will have exactly the same "problem" (its not really a problem imho its just the way it is when a new console launches...). I mean PS3 wh...
OMG i can't take that ps4 fanboyism on this site anymore. Yeah it is a good system on paper, but nothing spectacular at all. Nothing fancy, nothing new. Sony is playing it absolutely safe. And they have to, they can't afford having another launch like PS3. Or Vita.
But why do we buy consoles? We buy them as a means to an end. They enable us to play the stuff we really want. The games. And the PS4 will have nothing remotely interesting around launch (my personal opinio...
That may be the n4g perspective. But we are the nerds dude. We are a small group of people who spend our reading news and discussing our favorite upcoming titles. The big mass doesn't care about that. They want their Mario game and have fun.
@Deadpoolio: What are you talking about? AC3 and Arkham City ran without any issues on my WiiU.
I personally hate having to go into a menu for the map everytime in open world games. Usually there is even a 2-3 second delay when you go into the menu. You look at that map ALOT in those games and i get taken out of the experience.
I don't know if you have a WiiU but you have to try this before you believe it i guess. It's a major step forward especially for open...
Yeah it's the same for me :) I almost never get games on day one. In alot of cases I even wait till the price gets reduced. I don't care about the time, I care about the quality. But it sucks if you have the technically superior system (PC) but you get a 360-ish looking game for which you have to wait longer and even has bugs in it (GTA IV....).
It's been a sad time for PC gaming, getting late ports from underpowered systems. At least AC always looks alot better on PC than on console.
I really hope the situation improves now with the new gen being x86 and everything. But depending on how well they implement the map and stuff on the WiiU gamepad, i'll be getting alot of these up and coming titles for the WiiU anyway.
Great finally a game that makes use of my system (I'm between recommended and Ulta) AND we get to see what kind of hardware we are probably going to need for "next gen" games.
You know since about 5 years all that PC gamers (with a low cost midrange pc) do is set everything to max (if there even are settings...) and play at 1080p/60fps. Because 360/ps3 games just werent really demanding.
Now we finally get games that make use of our system! Let's "enjoy&...
Haters gonna hate you know :)
I absolutely agree that Nintendo should have had at least one incredibly looking title ready from the start. But they admitted that they overestimated HD a little bit and I appreciate the honesty. They could have just told us some marketing bullshit but they went ahead and admitted the truth.
But for me personally the fun and gameplay aspect of a game is usually more important than graphics, that's why I love Nintendo. I LOVED DKCR on...
You guys realise that this is just marketing talk right? A --> CEO <-- (a business guy) talking about the marvels of this new machine? Doing stuff that is "science fiction", right before the release of a new product? Come on...
"Buy our product, it will be like science fiction"
Whatever dude.
The WiiU pad is awesome. No compromises.
(please start to make some arguments or shut the f**** up)
Interesting. Well that's a good thing then, I just feel like Desmond had alot of potential but they never really did something with it. I mean you are Desmond in that game, together with him you go on these amazing journeys and learn so many skills and about history.
It came through a little bit in AC3, but after basically living 3 lifetimes of the greatest assassins in history (Altair, Ezio, Connor) he skills must be astonishing.. As I said, I'm ok with killing him off so the...
