Valve have everything to prove to PS3 owners and to be honest, they are not winning me over with Portal 2.
It look great in terms of visuals but the visuals did not match the sound. That is, the sound was suggesting all hell was breaking lose but yet the visuals were absent of action. A handful of ground soldiers.
For me I'm still waiting for that epic large scale battle that makes you feel like its one army against another.
Been using it to play Modern Combat Domination and turning is not a problem at all. Honestly, it gives you the edge over those using normal controllers.
@Fred...
I've had a PSP for the last 4 years and picked up a Go last year. I'm afraid you'll have to get use to no new significant functionality through firmware updates. There has not been any in over a year now!
I'm afraid once you get use to the Move controller it provides a real advantage for FPS games. Not only is it more accurate (we're talking mouse like accuracy) but it allows for a improved speeds whilst turning.
Terrible attempt at humour. Obviously watched Nation Lampoon's Vacation for the first time and instantly thought everything from the 80's had veneer wood panelling.
The 80's PSP was especially lame as we had handhelds in the 80's with LCD screens. Honestly, this could have been a fun post if the artist had actually done some research.
What it means...
...is that Gabe who had no time for the PS3 now wants to use PS3 to make more money. This is not about the capability of the PS3 its all about Valve trying to increase revenue.
Spider-Man 1 and 2 were great but Spidy 3 fell into the same trap of trying to do too much to top the previous installments. It also needed more time after part 2 before it was released.
How in hell is it marketing guns to consumers?
In New Zealand you can't even get your hands on automatic weapons, soon you won't even be able to buy air pistols legally.
What I'm most impressed with is that for a game that is priced not much higher than a Mini that the lobby actually lists the games being played and what your connection is like to them. Wow.
Makes you wonder why full priced games can't implement such basic yet extremely useful functionality.
@Baked
Sony marketing is terrible when it comes to generating hype for a game. I recall the marketing campaign for Gears of War - it was fantastic and generated a lot of consumer buzz.
Sony just don't seem to pump the same kind of money into helping move product that MS does. Sony should also be pushing this as the ultimate 3D FPS for all those who have purchased big 50"+ 3D displays. I mean, what other console offers 3D support for hardcore gamin...
Black Ops was not a let down, it was exactly what it set out to be...a means of milking money out of a tired franchise from gamers who no longer demand value for money.
Honestly, COD:BO did not put the gamer first, it put making profit first. Sure developers are there to make money but great games will sell. The COD brand was why BO sold so well.
@Trebius
What a f**king stupid bit of reasoning. Because the 360 only uses DVD it can't do HD. Thats funny, cause my PC only uses DVD and the games play in resolutions that dump all over the consoles.
DVD is not a limiting factor but the amount of graphic memory certainly is.
PSP updates have been $hit for a while and are nothing more than security updates. There is lots they could do to enhance the PSP media capabilities but guessing they'll hold off and offer advanced features on the PSP2.
One thing I have wanted for a while is cross fade between tracks.
I'm a Go owner and feel complety shafted by the lack of support Sony has given the Go.
I put about 40 hours into GT5, problem is that there are so many damn good games either out or coming out that I simply can't find time enough to play.
Its not that GT5 is a bad game, quite the opposite, its just I simply find myself with too little time to play all the good games as much as I'd like.
Another f**kwit thinking he's being smart. If I had a dollar for everyone who made a negative remark about GT5 that has never played or intended to play it I'd be a millionaire.
No. I had my PS2 for about 12 months and wanted a really good FPS. Turok was hyped to be a great FPS and it was terrible. Anyone who played it on the PS2 will know what I'm talking about. About the same time the Xbox was released in NZ and I got a look at Halo which was simply jaw dropping for a console FPS back then.
So, the store owner said he'd do a straight swap for my PS2 and games for an Xbox and Halo. Was a good deal as far as I was concerned.
...
I love the way they try and paint it as doom and gloom for Sony because the PS3 has now been hacked. I guess that means the 360, PC, PSP, DS...hell, all gaming consoles/computers right back to the 80's failed once they were hacked.
I can't recall a Turok game that was actually good.
I remember how bad Turok Evolution was on the PS2. Was the reason I traded in my PS2 for the Xbox and Halo.
Not sure its legit. Look at the speaker placement. Just how are those things supposed to work when the thing is closed and you're watching a movie?
Also, what have a separate light for Wi-Fi and Blue tooth, they don't do that now with the Go.
