As soon as it went about providing the best FPS gaming experience to being all about the money is when this franchise died.
Yes they make games to make money but the best developers still know that if you build a great game the money will come.
Wow, this guy should be a rocket scientist.
I prefer the PSP over the DS but I can't see the PSP2 selling on the same scale as the 3DS.
To sum up:
If you can play this on the PC as its the best of all 3 versions.
If you have both consoles then you're not going to suffer going with either version.
If you only have one console then really its a no brainer as to which version you get.
Both lack that killer must have exclusive at this stage. However, Kinect has been marketed well and even though its similar to Sony's own EyeToy MS has made it seem like a new and fresh idea.
I didn't know anything about Halo but after watching someone play it I traded in my PS2 for an Xbox. Halo looked incredible and the story was sublime.
My kids and I played the LBP2 demo to death and we didn't mind the controls at all. You have to keep in mind this is a platformer for all generations and gamer types not just those who seem to think playing games is a living.
Honestly, this feels like GT5 all over again. That is, focus on anything that is remotely negative to make the entire game seem like a failure. Now all we have to do is wait for a posting of "Epic LBP2 Control failure" or something of ...
If Loner can still approve stories then perhaps N4G site admin needs to rethink who can approve. Maybe if your rating falls beneath 3-stars then your right to approve stories is revoked.
Single player was mediocre but a hell of a visual feast whilst you were playing through.
All the good Kinect stuff seems to be happening on the PC.
Nothing wrong with boasting since you appear to like the game. May have to pick it up although its really hard to find a copy nowadays in NZ.
Thanks for the response.
I have to admit that Sony's PS3Eye should have been more Kinect like (not Kinect but Kinect like!). The PS3Eye seems more like an EyeToy 1.5. It also needs to be said that Sony sat on their hands when it came to supporting the PS3Eye. Honestly, in the first 4 years of the PS3 what titles did Sony release to make use of the PS3Eye? A handful of throw away PSN titles and even less retail titles. If nothing else they could have at least packaged up the original Eyetoy games and put them...
If it were priced a little better I'd love to give the game a go (in NZ the game is $108 and then approx $20 per month). I do have to wonder what sort of legs it will have on PS3 once other games like KZ3 and Uncharted 3 are released. Hell, what about LBP2! Too many great games that would prevent me from playing a subscription based game.
Given that GT5 was compared so heavily to another franchise, I wonder if the next iteration will be compared to GT5 post all the updates or GT5 pre all the updates.
GT5 today is a different game to that which was released last year.
Never played Lair as I didn't get my PS3 until well after its release. Is it worth getting for a budget title?
Does it have trophy support by chance?
GT5 is an absolute powerhouse of a driving game and for anyone that's been following the GT franchise it's clear that its head and shoulders above any of the previous GT games. Therefore, maybe a title like "Top 10 games that fanboys over hyped" would be more fitting.
Honestly, a couple of luke warm reviews and the game is suddenly perceived as failing. I dare say most of those who see it that way don't even own it, they just pounce on anything remot...
I wish we could vote people off this site. You'd be the first to go.
I live in New Zealand. I'd also be surprised if we had dedicated servers in these parts so another argument for lower prices for this game.
I love the sound and look of it except for one thing...your ship fires automatically. Not sure I like that or not and wish they had given you an option for auto or non-auto for the PSP version.
I don't think I'll get a chance to try it out. $108 to buy on PS3 then $20 per month to play. Really does not represent good value for money.
I would have thought given the registration process that Sony could tell which PS3 was used to create a PSN account. Hell, they trace which PS3s have been used to activate a game from PSN.
