Wish they could have made the joysticks flush with the surface of the unit. Those things will catch everytime you try to slip it into your pocket...
...obviously I mean adult pockets.
Loving the specs - not yet won over by the form factor. I prefer the look of my Go over this. I for one was not expecting the PSP2 to follow the styling of the PSP-3000.
Love it having 3GS but I'm now asking who will be thw carrier in New Zealand and what sort of plans they will make you sign up for.
I hope you'll be able to switch the sim card.
Will it have built in memory like the PSP Go. I really hate the idea of going back to having to buy a memory card just so you can use music and video.
I love having space to burn in my Go.
I agree on the specs (although not sold on the touch screen on the back...yet) so maybe they will make some changes to the form factor before its release.
Please Sony, no cheap plastic cases. The thing needs to at least feel expensive.
I picked up the Go about a year ago and the damn thing just glides into your pocket. Ever since the release of the 1000 Sony has been sliming the PSP down to make it lighter and more portable. The Go represents the best PSP form factor yet so going back to how it use to look is a bit of a let down.
Sony is sending a clear message with the PSP2 is that its all about gaming because you sit it next to an IPhone and the PSP2 almost looks, dare I say it, clunky.
...
Yes and no. I love my PSP Go and really wished the PSP2 looked more like it than what's being shown.
I wish the design of the PSP2 looked more like the image above and not what's being shown. It seems like a step back from the design of the PSP go.
I am loving most of the specs but I really wish it could have been a revamped PSP Go design as that thing looks even less portable than the PSP 1000.
I think the game looks like it will provide a nice break from other games I'm playing at the moment but it wont be long lasting.
@hackersdelight
You know, you can actually talk over the network when playing on-line on the PS3. What you can't do is have cross-game chat.
To be honest, when I'm playing on-line 99% of the time I want to chat to people I'm playing with to help beat the opposition. That's just me mind.
How bout we don't speculate and we just wait for the official announcement.
At the end of the day it will either be loaded with specs and priced to high or priced right but leave people wanting.
My prediction is that it will offer some quick thrills but have little lasting appeal. I'll be picking this up second hand a month or two after its released at fraction of the release retail price.
Main reason I like DD via PSN is because I have 5 playstations (2 x PS3, 3 x PSP) in my household. Sony's current policy of being able to use a game on up to 5 registered devices works great for me. Buy once, use many - who can complain about that.
You have to compare Sony to Apple. Sony sat on its hands when MP3 hit the world and now look at what happened to the Walkman. I think at that stage Sony was trying to push the Mini-Disc when Apple was pushing its IPod.
People say the IPod/Phone is not for gaming. Well, it plays games and all indications are its marketbase will only increase and that the games will only get better.
The PSP2 is being released in a completely different marketplace than th...
Apple has proven you don't need physical media and regardless of what you think their portable devices are used for gaming.
The reason the Go failed is simple:
Price and range. Sony need to reduce their digital content so its vastly cheaper then physical media and they also need to offer the same range that's available on physical media.
Your dead right. The IPhone and IPod touch are doomed and will fail any day now.
Yeah, because the apps side of things has been so well supported by Sony up till now.
I don't use homebrew but it seems to be the only way you can get a wide array of apps on the PSP currently.
Let's not forget price. You put in most of the rumoured features and it will be priced like an IPhone. Question is, if its priced like an IPhone which one appeals to the mass market more?
I agree. Touch screen has moved on since the 90's.
Damn it huge. I love my Go for the reason it is portable gaming on the go. The PSP2 is a step backwards in terms of form factor.
Love the specs but hate the size.
