...I do hate getting my ass kicked by the kids that play on-line. I'm 36, 4 kids but have been gaming since I was about 10. Hell, Id rather be gaming than out on the town wasting all my disposable income on alcohol.
...maintain at least a solid 30fps and eliminate the screen tearing then this will be the best looking racing game period. To be honest, its already shaping up to be the best ever but having a maintained 30 (or even 60)fps and no screen tearing will be some very yummy icing on a very delicious cake :)
Am getting this as soon as the full game is released.
...when compared to what the XMB really needs to do:
1. Allow you to manage your friends list (i.e. add a new friend after playing against them without having to first quit the game).
2. See what your friends are doing and be able to join their game. Be great if you could also see the connection quality and settings for the game they are playing (i.e. for COD4 see that they are playing Team Deathmatch and your connection to the host would be good).
3. Logout a...
...to the list of some of the digital junk thats porned off on XBLA. Don't get me wrong, there are some real gems on XBLA (e.g. Geometry Wars, Pac-Man: CE, etc) but most of the games are just pure and simple crap.
I still think that most XBLA games are overpriced. I also wish they would let you enter initials into high-score charts and not just default to your XBL username. Makes for more fun when you're trying to beat other players who live at the same address as you (i.e. ...
...great potential however, they need to drastically look at their pricing model for playing on-line. I have kids and they want to each play on-line when they log in. However, there is no way I am paying for XBL membership for each of them. Also, using a shared account means that they can't track their own performance.
I have however set them up on-line accounts for the PS3...much more cost effective in that respect.
...you should be able to connect it to the controller to continue using it when its battery cell runs out of charge.
There is no way the battery in this headset lasts as long as they claim between charges.
Just picked up a PS3 but this is not one of the games that inspired me to do so. The action looks very sedate and too scripted for my liking. The kind of game that you play a dozen times and everything happens exactly the same way at the same points in time. When does next gen gaming actually start again???
I tell you, the only thing that moves round the floor as much as Snake is my vacumme cleaner.
Graphics look great but are not organic enough. All looks to...
Sony's best response to this would be to ensure that Rockstar are making the best version of the game on the PS3 due to its larger storage and ability to install content on the HDD.
We all know that the 360 will get more game content however, will the PS3 version be gimped because of the storage limitations on the 360 or will this be yet another case of the PS3 merely look as good as the 360 version.
What is the point of Blu-Ray if it cannot be used to make a tit...
...the layout of PSN to that of XBL Marketplace (XBLM). Its more intuitive and mimics what you'd expect when using an e-commerce site.
XBLM may have more content but that will change as you have to start somewhere.
...VISA charges it cam to about $13 NZD per month. A real rip off considering you can get 12 month memberships for $80 NZD. Problem was, I paid for one month Xbox Live using the VISA and MS automatically kept rolling it over without my OK. However, I just got use to paying by VISA.
All I can say is never pay month by month!
...as you can see I still have my 360 avatar displayed in my profile. I downloaded the demo and was not 100% happy about it. However, my two boys thought it was pretty cool so I purchased the full game. Still does not change the fact that I thought it could have been better.
I am annoyed that you consider it trolling when I owned a 360 for over a year and was an avid on-line Xbox Live gamer. However, we have had connection issues for some time in New Zealand and I was sick ...
...an in-game XMB. However, it needs to have a low footprint in terms of resources and stay true to the main XMB Sony uses on the PS3 and PSP. I would hate to call up the XMB during a game and have to wait as it loaded or it performed sluggishly.
If you need to see an example of how a good XMB works then just look at the one on the 360 after their lastest fall update. Its fast (almost too fast!) and does everything you need it to.
I am sure the PS3 will get th...
...a half decent game. I felt a little ripped off that I paid $14 NZD for it as its not as good as I was hoping. The graphics are certainly very smart but I was hoping for a 3d, sideways scrolling shoot-em-up and not a game based on a headquarters multiplayer game.
I think MS should have given everyone 800 points so they could decide how to use them how they wanted. I find it really unfair that if you already own the game you now have to chase up with MS for another deal.

...that until October 2007 the PS3 was still $1399 (NZD). Even though they are a more respectable $799 the PS2 sells for as little as $150 new. The PS2 still provides excellent value for money for those not interested in next gen gaming. Especially when it means you also have to (ideally) get an HDTV to enjoy it.
Also, New Zealand is such a small gaming market that any stats that suggest 3:1 sales could actually mean that 3 PS2's were sold. We still don't even have dedicat...
I got the previous Turok game (Evolution) on the PS2 and it was a dire experience. The graphics suffered from terrible framerates, the draw distance was extremely short. The whole game had a budget game feel about it.
...make sure that Blu-Ray does provide a real advantage for gaming over the dual layer DVD format. So far they have not. The kinds of things I expect to see is for games like GTAIV or Resident Evil 5 that the environments feature greater detail and variety as more data can be streamed off the disc. Its not good enough to talk about filling up the disc with bonus content or huge audio files to make the difference.
Microsoft have been right so far in saying that DVD9 is a suit...
I wonder if the person who wrote the article has actually used a PS3. I have to admit that having a PS3 for several days now that I find it a much more agreeable experience overall even though it has one obvious weakness - the lack of an in-game XMB that allows you to join game sessions or manage your friends list. However, this seems to be on the way.
Other than that I find it hard to fault the PS3. I still experience game lag but thats the nature of the best given that I l...
... the 360 and PS3 versions will look/play the same but still hoping to see some of the benefits of Blu-Ray and the ability to install content to the HDD with this game.
But nothing special, not like GT5. Can anyone tell me how well non-GT driving type games fare on the PS platform?
I would only buy arcade style racers to compliment GT.
Still needs tweaking. Look at how the steering wheel goes through the drivers hand. I know, small grip but we cant have a game being 100% perfect :)
