...GT5 looks terrific and I'm using it as my excuse to finally get my PS3 however, if they don't fix the screen tearing issue I am not buying it. Too many of the next gen games feature slowdown, texture popping and screen tearing. These types of graphical issues should have been left behing last gen - not sold as acceptable just because we now have higher poly counts.

Forza 2 physics + Forza 2 damage + GT5 visuals = best driving simulator ever!

What if you're nudged by another car in a corner and you skid off the track. Point is, I was hoping they would leave that old bumper car mentality behind in GT4...this is suppose to be next gen gaming for goodness sake. Which I dare say means more than just next gen visuals....

Forza 2 physics + Forza 2 damange modelling + GT5 visuals = greatest driving simulator ever!

1. Still the same old plastic tape barriers able to stop a car...very disappointing. Should have at least the same amount of space to move off track as you did in DIRT.

2. Trees look average. A series of flat textures - look similar to those in GT4.

3. Lighting is still not as good as I was hoping. Refering mainly to when the cars pass through the tunnel and should be half in shadow and half in light. You can clearly see that the shadow in the tunnel is pr...

...Costs you nothing to have an Xbox Live Silver membership which gives you full access to download movies. The movies however you have to pay for.

I dare say Sony will charge for movie downloads so it means Sony will have caught up and be the same as Xbox Live in that regard.

Wow - yet another spinless git has hit disagree without stating why. F**king fanboys are nothing but bottom dwellers.

...are a little weak. Be great if smoke from explosions and weapons fire hung around a little longer...it disappears faster than steam!

However, this looks great...but does remind me quite a lot of the look for Gears of War

...of that you can be sure. You have to winder why MS did not go down the same route as the PS3 in terms of being able to substitute your own HDD.

...in addition to the brilliant visuals, the one thing I notice is the sustained rear-view. Most racing games you looking in the rear view mirror and you see the objects (i.e. buildings, trees, etc) disappear after they get to a certain point behind you. Looks to me in GT5 they naturally disappear from view.

My Playstation 3 experience will start when they release GT5!!!!!!!!

reasons being:

(following reasons are based on premise you actually get to keep what you download, not just a rental)

1. A good on-line service will keep track of what you have downloaded so if its deleted or corrupted you can download it again. How many retailers replace a scratched or lost BD or HD disc? Hell, most insurance companies only cover to a maximum amount when it comes to physical disc media so they probably won't be much help if your entire collec...

...would it be better to have not released it at all on the PS3?

You have to think about how many copies this would have sold on the PS3 even if the game engine had been optimised. Lets face it, there is a real issue with PS3 attach rates. I'm thinking EA did the math and projected that with or without a smooth framerate there was only so much profit to be made.

This is however a real shame. Half-Life 2 and the follow up episodes are brilliant but the choppy f...

...mine is only 720p and 1080i with a max res of 1366 x 768. How does the PS3 look on such a display device?

I hate all this HD ready and 1080 Signal Compatible crap when clearly the max native resolution of a screen is well below native 1080p.

...I have pointed out flaws in GT5 images in the past but apart from a lack of in-car reflections of other cars, this game is looking frigging insane.

GT5 is the No.1 reason I'm getting my PS3 in 2008!!!!

...yeah, but that's all you can say.

However, before you jump on the fanboy bandwagon. Drakes Fortune WILL NOT BE a case of Gears of War which will still be being used as the graphical benchmark some 12 month after its released. the PS3 has some huge titles on the way which will continue to set new standards. I just hope they live up to the early hype...Lair anyone???

This time next year we will know if the PS3 will have the 10 year staying power its proclaime...

...Ok, might mean $10 for you. But if Sony sell 120 million PS3s (as some people think they will) what does it mean on actual power consumption. Demands on energy supply are for ever increasing and may outstep supply if we can't find clean and green alternatives. Every year we pack more electronics into our homes without thinking about what it means on a national or global scale.

Start thinking about the bigger picture and not just yourself.

...on that list that would make me part with my hard earned money to buy it on Blue-Ray or HD-DVD if it were being released on that format.

This is the problem with both formats. All studios are holding back with the BIIIIGGGG releases in order to ensure they maximise their revenue. You won't see them until there is a big enough install base. If they do release them early they'll not be the big deluxe special directors cut collectors editions that they'll release a year late...

Do we really want an inferior team messing around with what has been achieved with COD4????

...a good multiplayer lobby system. The COD4 lobby is pure 100% sh*t. You have no idea who's hosting or what your connection is like until the game starts. Then if you quit because the connection sucks its counted as a loss against you.

IW needs a big kick in the pants for releasing a great on-line shooter with one of the worst lobby systems ever.

"there's a reason why Sony called it the XBOX 1.5". I'll bet if Sony said that Microsoft was manufacturing weapons of mass destruction that you'd be wanting Bush to send in the troops. Some people will buy any trash their sold as though its gospel.

By the way, when a crap PS3 title is released does that mean the PS3 is merely a PS2.5?

Stop being a Sony rent boy and start being a human being again and thinking for yourself. Both the PS3 and 360 are no...
