...how people who think achievements are a waste of time yet they scramble to post news on this site to get...well...achievement points.
ummm, I actually no longer prefer to buy. You end up paying for a movie and watching it 2 or 3 times. You then have to store it and look after it. With renting you get it when/if you want to watch it. Ends up being a lot cheaper - especially when most movies sold have such little replay value.
I use to own over 300 DVDs. Totally pointless as when would you ever find the time to watch them all?
Just how many times do you need to watch the movie? Even if I rent it 2 or 3 times still ends up costing me less than buying it. I have seen the movie twice. Once at the movies and once on DVD...I will not consider it a loss if I don't ever see the movie again.
GT5 may look the part but without damage modeling and removing the barriers that prevent you from driving off the track its still just an advanced version of bumper cars.
Forza 2 damage modeling + Forza 2 Customisation + GT5 Visuals = best driving game ever. Not sure which has the best physics so left that out at this stage...
...the trees in GT5 look like absolute crap. I also wonder what Forza 2 would have looked like if they removed damaged modeling and the ability to customise your car to the max in favor of better car models and environments.
Even though I'll probably get GT5 its still just the slickest game of bumper cars you can get...
People looking to buy a games console will see this and ask themselves why buy a PS3? It came out a year after the 360 and has supposedly better specs and yet its only managing to keep up with the 360.

Is it a native 1080p (at full 1080p resolution) or one of the less expensive 1080p signal compatible sets with a much lower resolution. I have heard that the scaler in the PS3 is not ideal for scaling back to 720p or 1080i as good as the 360 can. Is this true????
...there are lots of free themes for the PS3 to use up some of that empty space. I would much rather have empty space than an add for a game you can't even download from Marketplace.

Don't get me wrong, the interface on the 360 is easy to navigate and has some bright colours but it lacks any sort of class what so ever. I actually hate the ads on the dashboard which I find obtrusive. You should be able to turn them off, especially if you are a Xbox Live Gold subscriber.

certainly not reflected in games sales. Maybe everyone was wrong, people did buy the PS3 as a Blu-Ray player and not a games console. Might explain why the attach rate for the PS3 is so low. Mind you, that and the fact that the PS3 is still lacking those must have AAA exclusives...

Sony has to a larger extent fixed PS3 pricing issues however, the biggest problem still remains. There are no must have AAA games on the system. Sure there are a handful of solid exclusives (HS, R&C, Uncharted, etc) but none of them are games that people will run a marathon for in order to own.

...gamers are going to opt for the more expensive PS3 because one of the multiplatform games is visually superior (in your eyes). Take a step back for a minute and take a hard look at which next-gen console has the stronger games library right now. Its the 360. Even when the 360 has the inferior port its not inferior by much. Certainly not to the extent that would make you give away all the AAA 360 titles in favor for a PS3.

Also, only the 40GB SKu is available in NZ. Furthermore, Sony NZ has not yet introduced dedicated servers for PSN. PS3 owners need to connect to PSN servers in Australia.
