It's called console gaming.

He's flamebaiting and trolling as usual, which is probably why you love him.

His point isn't anything new or unique, he's just repeating an observation most of us have noted years ago and blowing it completely out of proportion to get people riled up. While the gap in ease-of-use between consoles and PCs has gotten smaller, it's still a giant one. Anyone who tells you otherwise is sensationalizing.

He didn't say "internet built in", he said "online" built in. The internet, as he said, is something he already pays an ISP for.

Ah, here is a question then: would you expect a Jewish person to express their sentiments that way? Or would you give them a pass to speak badly of him without having to mention his merits every single time, just so that people like you can be secure in knowing that they are aware of his poetry? Kotaku have pissed a lot of people off who used to visit and comment there regularly.

Anyway you're reaching at this point, stop it. He shouldn't have to list every aspect of ...

I don't know if you're playing dumb or the real deal... Do you believe that he's saying that having never visited the site before? Do you think there is anyone in here who isn't more than familiar with Kotaku? The error here is yours, not his, for assuming that he's making a statement with zero experience. I don't know him, but I promise you that he's been to Kotaku.

Also, for the record, the media is not the sole determining factor in a site's...

Yeah, it was a play on the title to mock Kotaku for irrelevancy. Not a comment about the article at all. Are you trying to say that this article is so solid that he wouldn't be able to honestly express that sentiment anymore if he read it? Or are you just trying to backpedal so you don't look like you totally missed his point? Should he have to read a Kotaku article each time he decides to slam Kotaku, just to make sure he still thinks they stink?

Regardless of the qu...

Did he say anything about the topic or title, or did he say something about the site? Did you bother to read his comment, or just pick up on the negative tone and reply to it the first way you decided to take it?

Is "fanboy" your go-to or something? So the thousands of people across the globe who have been playing it for years are nothing more than fanboys? You don't think it's even remotely possible that in all that time they found legitimate value in a game that you dismissed quickly enough to get a refund on?

It's an MMO, it takes time to excel at and to learn the way things work. FFXI had* a reputation for being brutal on players. Those that were receptive a...

Your comment is a clear example of why people shouldn't fabricate assumptions out of thin air. Do you mind telling me why you (mistakenly) believe that there shouldn't be MMOs under the FF name? Does it ruin the other games somehow or something? Or is there something about FF that you believe impossible to represent in an MMO?

Anyway, you're very wrong. They still come out with expansions for it. It's died down significantly, but still has tens of thousands of...

I just came back about a month ago and things have vastly changed... Whether for better or worse it's hard to say. Parties do not happen the way you remember them... I have a friend in here who started leveling his WHM lsast night @30 and who is now 95. I can't explain it all in this little post obviously... You may want to take a look though. It's interesting to say the least.

I'm a huge fan of the MGS series, and not only do I want to see something new, but I'd like MGS to stop. Not everything needs to be beaten to the point where people hate it before it stops. MGS4 wrapped things up beautifully, why not let it retire with dignity? I'm sure MGS5 will be a quality game, but I'm not sure I can say I'm 100% pleased

The words your putting into my mouth don't make sense. I'm accusing Wii of not having games on a system I like? I didn't say anything about bad games, I'm talking about a library that pales in comparison to the competition.

What I meant to say is exactly what I said. Comparatively speaking, the Wii does not have a large library of diverse games. It's biggest forerunners are the same franchises we've seen from Nintendo for the past couple of decades, an...

The point isn't to say that one should be satisfied with the single console, or that any one console will let you play every game that you could possibly want to play. I thought that was clear. It's the 3/4 major home-gaming platforms have large and diverse libraries capable of sustaining interest across a wide array of genres and styles. The 4th is Nintendo.

This is really simple actually, and you don't need to pull out sales charts, pontificate on what it means to be hardcore, or theorize on collective gamer consciousness. I'll make it nice and plain for the author of this blog and for everyone who is foaming at the mouth as they frantically rush to the scene to protect the reputation of the Mario factory while Reggie attempts to shoehorn his own foot from his mouth.

I grew up on Nintendo systems. I kept on buying system...

So you'd rather have character models to look at in a game once you've already beaten it than extra challenges to play through and accomplish? Also, as Robotronfiend said, the two aren't mutually exclusive, and most games have trophies/achievements as well as in-game unlockables.

I could easily make the argument that the fulfillment of challenges is what is at the heart of a video game experience. It's what makes it a video GAME and not a video.

It's going to be an actual game based on Ender's universe. We'll all be sad for the buggers in the end.
