Most don't do it to the extent Nintendo does, with the possible exception of Square Enix. I defy you to name another franchise that has been beaten to death like Mario. And for as long. Don't get me wrong, I don't think they should let any of their key franchises die, they are always good games, but it seems like they've become too reliant on nothing but that. Man cannot game on Zelda alone.

There is no magic, that's why. The opinions are split on whether or not 3D is even an asset, and those who do enjoy it aren't necessarily thrilled with it in every case. Considering the hardware packed in it, it's kind of expensive, and there isn't too much in terms of interface to distinguish it from the dozen DS models that have been released in recent years. An abysmal launch lineup is no doubt part of the reason, but that's not all. If the system was impressive eno...

"Right now, '80710a06' is hotter than Cheryl Cole and Wayne Rooney - if not quite as popular as Rebecca Black. This seemingly random collection of letters and numbers is one of the hottest search terms on the internet - sorry Cheryl - and the greatest source of frustration to gamers since, er, 8001050F - the last time PlayStation 3 (PS3) suffered a major network error, on that occasion related to its internal clock. What's going on? Who's to blame? When will you play PS3 ...

Take your time guys, just make sure everything is secure! I'll continue playing Nier, Katamari Forever, and Fight Night until PSN is back up. Then it's time to try out MAG for the first time =)

I think the suggestion is a great one. The extent of the extension would depend on the duration of the outage of course... It's hard to estimate when it might end at this point, isn't it. It's the only form of compensation I find appropriate in this case though. It's not fair to ask for free games that devs are supposed to be getting paid off of, and people who don't subscribe to any services shouldn't feel entitled to any compensation whatsoever, but appropriate ex...

Because they are propaganda pushers themselves. Ironic, considering how they're championing this fight against the evil corporation and their subtle manipulative attacks on human consciousness, yet every one of their videos seems to play like an cheesy rendition of big brother controlling the masses. The only thing that reeks worse than the bullshit they spew is the hypocrisy that it's all soaked in.

"I love it how people would rather blame it on somebody"

Umm... Aren't every one of your propositions blaming somebody?

a) blames Sony for being incompetent.
b) blames some mysterious person who is causing trouuble, but who isn't "Anonymous"
c) citing Sony's potential incompetence again
d) blames members of "Anonymous", but says that you shouldn't blame the whole group.

You...

I'm annoyed by it too, but compensation? Break down the cost of a year subscription and you'll realize that 3 days of service comes to roughly 42 cents. 60 cents if one purchases a 3 month sub. What do you really want from them? Sometimes services go down, it's just a fact of life. If it happened frequently I could understand that level of dissatisfaction, but it's the rarest of occurrences in the PSN. PSN+ has nothing to do with it either, one is paying for periodic free...

Did you even read what he wrote? His first statement simultaneously complained about how often their service has been out, while saying that he hasn't even been on in weeks. I use my PS3 daily, and this is the second time I can remember it being down in a year at very least, the first time being the Anonymous attack.

The second part acknowledges the number of times that constitutes "MUCH too often" in his mind (2.... in a month, with no mention of anything in ...

Very well said, I agree 100%. Their methods, and the reason for their hostile reaction are questionable at best, counterproductive and peripherally damaging to innocent people at worst. I don't like to see anyone going to prison when it isn't necessary, but this is the type of response a terrorist act provokes, they should've known this from the start. There are doubtless many intelligent members of this group, and they must be totally capable of coming up with a better plan th...

I have a message for Anonymous:

Pick your battles. There is a reason support for your cause is rapidly dwindling, and it's about more than the presentation of this whole operation that seems like it was executed by an 8th grader with too much time on his hands. The anonymous group is basically employing terrorist tactics to combat the removal of a feature that (I'm gonna pull a number out of my ass here) roughly 0% of PS3 owners used. What does this say about anonym...

PSN ad XBL are both more reliable than most people's internet connections are, just stop it. It's not incompetence, the complexity of these setups is something that you obviously have no concept of. Things like this happen time to time to just about any person or persons running a server. For a company that offers a free service that the competition charges for (with just as much reliability I should add), I'd say they do a stellar job of maintaining the PSN. So yes, I call yo...

Maybe the color of the new Nintendo console will make people play video games on phones more.

Seriously, I haven't seen this much of a non-story in a long time. Trust me, these two days aren't going to do a damned thing to prospective consumers. Many of them don't notice, many others know of it, but may not have been itching to play online these few days anyway. I'm willing to wager every single one of them have 1P games or game modes to play for two days. ...

Where does a prediction like that even come from? For all we know the next Nintendo console could blow the MS and Sony hardware out of the water. One only has to go back a single console generation to find a time where Nintendo's hardware was outperforming Sony's. They aren't fools over there, and they're aware that the novelty of the Wii-mote has dramatically worn off on people, and if they want to remain competitive they'll need a new approach.
