"Sales speak differently."

Thanks, I was hoping you'd abandon the facade of a gamer who wants a great new handheld, and show your true colors as a Sony troll, hater, or just general ballbreaker. You also incorrectly assume that a participator in your fanboy hatred when you try to hurt my feelings in that first comment. Save it dude, I'm a gamer, not someone who has bick-dick contests with others companies' sales figures.

Here sweetie, you forgot your crown.

While I'm not buying a Vita and not trying to convince anyone that they should, your reasons for not partaking are pretty flimsy. Sounds like you decided you weren't going to get one first, and then started looking for reasons to support the decision after the fact.

- Accusing brand new systems of having "no games" is something that always sounds like Charlie Brown's mom when I hear it. Especially in...

Oooh, two things we *might* see. Very interesting and informative. I'm looking for the list of thing we might not-see though, personally. I don't know about anyone else but all the possibilities of thing that might not-happen has me positively mad with anticipation.

@Reibooi
Yeah, the Charlie's Angel's thing is what kept me away from it, and I always regretted it. My buddy at the time picked it up and increasingly talked about how awesome it was right until the end. I meant to get around to it after that, but had a very full game-plate, and it never happened. Even though I can't speak for it personally, it kinda bugs me when people going around calling it a crap game, since I know they probably haven't played it at all, and are re...

"even square devs said after xi that it was a mistake to make it numbered and they wouldnt do it again"

Except that they did do it again.

Anyway, this isn't the first time that I've seen the strong opinion that SE made a huge mistake by titling the game "XI". None of the other people I've seen express the sentiment have made any sense either. I understand people criticizing games, but when you're blaming a naming conventio...

FFIX was great, but less so than it's predecessors and its immediate successor in my opinion. It was pure fan service, pretty much even admittedly. Before they broke into double digits they wanted to present something that aesthetically went right back to FF roots (aside from resolution of course), and that's what that was. While IX did everything right, it also did little-nothing new or different. That makes it forgettable to me, at least compared to every other major FF title.

Don't let yourself rate games based on demos. You don't "know" anything from playing them. While many people crap on XIII and XIII-2, there are also plenty of people who love them. I can tell you right now that it's possibly my favorite battle system in the entire series, and one doesn't get to witness the depth and flexibility of it in a demo, but after trying to tackle the big boys with it. Since it's cheap now, I'd highly recommend trying it. Since you wer...

To notice a pattern that exists (only when you selectively ignore all their other releases that come out on other dates), and then to use that pattern as a basis to assume that a gaming company has secretly adhered to a release-dating-convention and will never deviate from it? Yeah, you're right, it doesn't take a genius.

It's just a hot release time for games. So is Fall/Winter. If they aren't releasing in Spring they're releasing in Fall/Winter. If it...

"Hey, GTA stories get heat on N4G, let's hold off on those bus stop ads, billboards, radio & TV commercials, and website ads guys!"

No. Yes, they have a pre-installed buzz for the game, but it doesn't mean hype is "covered" by any means. I didn't hear about Chinatown Wars on N4G, I first knew of it when there was a gigantic mural painted for it on the side of a building... in Chinatown.

It's sad that Nintendo Power is going the way of a lot of the great game magazines have gone, but I think the era you speak of was effectively ushered out a really long time ago (at least 15 years), with the advent of the internet. Symbolically and otherwise.

While my early childhood holds similar memories involving Nintendo Power, EGM was my magazine of choice by the 5th grade or so (I played Genesis as well), so I went through this mild sadness when they were first can...

It's not generous, they're making amends for a broken game that they can't fix. It's damage control.

1. What drugs are you using? It's a 4 minute video, and while the first 2 mins are slow, the second half shows off more gameplay than most release trailers do, as well as offer a taste of a solid and unique soundtrack. I'm not saying there is a lot of footage out there, but more than enough for people to be excited for, especially from a developer who has come through strong twice before. People get excited over a freaking logo for a sequel nowadays, don't tell me that The Last Gu...

I'm replying to this first comment, but it's really in regards to this entire thread.

Not only did you seem to completely misunderstand what the aim and/or tone of this blog post was, but instead of calming down and taking a second look at the post vs. how you responded, you're becoming increasingly tangentially caught up with some subtlety that you swear is there, but that I promise you is not. The blog is attempting to lay out what the author sees as various pop...

Actually it's not at all like this with any piece of commercial software. Most software is a piece of merchandise itself, with an agreement attached that is made upon purchase. Steam is a free service where people have *already paid lots of money* to "own" products that may no longer be accessed unless you agree to new terms that were not present when you originally made the deal. It's similar to what Sony did, except instead of being prohibited to use the PSN in the future ...

@Blitz0623
So does the mean you've never criticized what you felt was bad acting in your entire life? For that matter, is there any aspect of a movie's creation on which you have sufficient enough expertise to criticize the work of any paid professional in the field? Have you written anything as well received as even the most modestly successful film? If not, and if you adhere to the philosophy on which you base your logic, then you must never have criticized a movie in your l...
