Gamers understand that E3 is right around the corner, we are gamers for goodness sake. E3 is like our holiday. The problem was that at the reveal Microsoft decided to show off the most important feature of their console and it was TV not gaming. Sorry but I, like a lot of gamers, don't watch TV. They spent 50 minutes on TV and 10 minutes on games and those games was CoD and sports. So yeah, people are a little pissed off.
Oh and no one is clever by saying that E3 is right...
If I have to pay to play a used game on the Xbox One, then that is One less console for me to buy.
This is actually bigger news than the used games situation.
Microsoft is totally bringing back the VHS/Betamax player and I am all for it.
The size of the Xbox One alone will kill sells for it in Japan.
Thats pretty silly. I think I prefer the satire with Miyamoto, Reggie, and Iwata. I loved how Miyamoto kept doing random things in that one.
So like three young female protagonist equals taking over games now? Also Clem wasn't the main character in the Walking Dead, yes having her with you heavily influenced your actions, but she wasn't the main character.
No everyone is upset because this reveal set the tone for what Microsoft is going to be focused on with the Xbox One and that is TV, not gaming.
Everyone fully knows that at E3 there will be a ton of games revealed. People displeasure stems from the message sent today, not the thought that there wont be a ton of games on the Xbox One.
The funniest thing I heard someone say after the Xbox One reveal was that he was no longer as disappointed in his WiiU purchase.
They just gave a reveal where gaming was a footnote. Say what you will, most people brought the xbox 360 for the great games on it and all the media features where just an added bonuses. People are upset because they watched that reveal expecting to see the future of gaming, not a VHS player.
The funniest thing about the Xbox One is that it looks like a VHS player.
It looks like a VCR player, but the snap mode feature is cool.
People didn't buy Yakuza because Sega didn't market it properly. Ni No Kuni sold well, with a name like that, so people will buy Japanese rpgs, but you have to be smart about the marketing and the number of copies sold initially. Had they taken the Atlus route and released a limited number of copies initially, than hype would have built up and more copies could have been sold.
I am just glad there will be a sequel at all. Hopefully they make enough money off of this deal with Nintendo that they can bring Bayonetta 3 to multiple platforms.
Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii had no load times. I think we can all at least agree that the WiiU is slightly more powerful than the Wii. Lego City, while a wonderful game, is poorly optimized.
Thats because outside of Nintendo 1st party games they are just ports that aren't optimize for the system, maybe with the exception of ZombiU.
Core gamers aren't stupid, they understand a substandard port when they play it. Lego City is amazing, but there is no reason for those horrific load times other than a poorly optimized game.
The Yakuza game is clearly just a port of the ps3 HD version, maybe they will do something more to optimize it but only...
Yakuza is a big deal in Japan. I am really surprised to see this on the Wii U.
I am glad to see Ubisoft stand up for Nintendo. It sucks what happened with the Rayman game, but Ubisoft games can actually sell alongside Nintendo games so I can understand there frustration with the lack of big name Nintendo titles.
Looks great.
The WiiU will be a great second console to have and the ps4 will be a great primary system. I don't own a WiiU yet, waiting on more games for it, but I will get one sooner than later. I was planning on getting the Xbox One day one too, but not anymore. I will wait a year or two and I am sure that the Xbox One will be a justifiable purchase much later on.
On a side note, I want to make a betamax/vhs joke so bad right now, but I am trying to be respectful to the gamers that...
