Why would you want them to fail or be happy about it? You do understand that competition is good for the industry and for gamers. When one company is too dominant we just get generic rehashes of the same content over and over.

The last time Nintendo was backed into a corner like this we got the DS and Wii. While I am not a fan of the Wii I do recognize what it did for Nintendo on the whole as a company. It was a complete hardware revolution for them.
I am hoping that this current situation will lead to a software revolution for them. Only time will tell, but I am not ready to count Nintendo out just yet.
You are 100% correct, but the real question is why aren't they profitable on the Nintendo platforms? True the WiiU still hasn't reached it's critical numbers even slightly and to be honest there sells are terrible right now. This is something that Nintendo simply has to fix and it is going to take good games to fix this not a price cut.

Well there is always the option of not using Nintendo's or anyone elses copyrighted material. If people are only watching to see that person than surely they can play something else that isn't related to Nintendo and not have to worry about this issue.

The whole Nintendo thing is blown out proportion. I believe Nintendo requires you to play an ad, I am guessing a Nintendo ad, at the beginning and ending of your video if you use their property. I don't think they do take ad revenue away from the youtube holder that uses their content.

If EA had any plans of releasing original games on the WiiU then yes it would be a lost. But all EA planned on doing was releasing substandard ports on the WiiU that had the most basic of Gamepad functions, so this isn't a great lost at all.
If any game EA released or was planning to release for the WiiU would have been anything other than a cheap substandard port of their main franchises, then yes this would have been a major lost for Nintendo and more importantly WiiU owners.

I completely agree with you. The reality is that there are some very popular people and organizations on Youtube generating a lot of money off of other game companies IPs. If they want to make money than they should either use original content or specifically get the copyright holder's permission to use their content in a way that will result in them making a profit off someone elses work.
If you are using someone elses copyright material to generate revenue for yourself than that person has every right to step in and take the revenue you are making with their content.
The moment you start cashing in on someone elses IP, that is the moment you stop doing something just for the love of the fanbase.

Nintendo didn't allow EA to put their crappy Origins service integration on the WiiU. After that move, all of a sudden all the supposed corporation with Nintendo vanished. Honestly, if I had no intention of buying any big name EA title for the WiiU so I don't care.
It's kind of hard to sell people dlc for your game when they buy it used and can't play it online.
Thats why they are getting rid of online passes, but I don't care because I am just glad to see them kill this stupid system. Hopefully Sony and everyone else follows suit.

No one would have a problem with this move if Gearbox would have been very vocal and specific about the fact that there would be DLC that would not be included with the Season Pass. They didn't do that because they wanted folks to blindly buy the season pass. Yes the information was there, but it certainly wasn't put out front for you to obviously find it.
