Indies would really be the new 3rd party if Nintendo started up that funding grant for small studios like they had during the GC era. It's not that WiiU doesn't have good games, it just needs a better variety of good games.
The game looks really good, but from the Eurogamer 2hr live streaming it seems a little underwhelming in the game play department. I know most people are putting their eggs all in the visual basket. But aside from the flair and flashy effects I was expecting to see something more! Even the parkour seems way behind what the early Assassin's Creed games have established. A lot of these early games are seeming more like tech demo's than a true evolution in the franchises.
So let me say this, go back and look at Far Cry 3 and Crysis 3 and tell me that those games were held back and some how look less than amazing on PC's because the games were cross gen! I know people keep throwing that around but it's just a poor excuse really...
No more than 3d became mainstream! It will be an added immersion used in gaming, but the major gaming public won't choose it over the traditional ways to play...
Assassin's Creed is running it's course, even though the French Revolution is a interesting time period. I hope people really don't get their hopes up on visuals looking like the reveal for the console counterparts. The ink isn't even dry yet on Watchdogs and people are so quick to believe everything that they see!
Well that as well, but you can't help when these guys offer up to want to develop these games! I mean even with Kamiya, its like Nintendo let him take a crack at StarFox. The guy is a huge fane and thinks he can offer something unique to the franchise.

I couldn't agree more! These types of articles are just ridiculous and anything that gets more people into gaming should be welcomed. Not always seen as a competition.
Not true really, it's already been proven that the r7 265(which is pretty much the PS4 gpu) for $150 runs BF4 better than the PS4 does. So what consoles need to continue to do is trumpet the exclusive games and not how they relate to high end gpu's.
I think people have it all wrong when they say that they want Nintendo to make M rated games. Personally I don't want to see them trying to do something they aren't that familiar with. But what I will say is that they need to take a page from Disney and hire, expand and or purchase the studios that do know how to make these types of games. Hopefully this does turn out successful, but why since Sony announced VR do people now think it's the future! To be honest $250-$300 is not a mainstream price point. It will get some early adopters but it's still a add on accessory for the PS4. Ubisoft needs to let this game have a year break! They have Watchdogs coming this year, they should just alternate these types of games so they don't completely burn the franchise out.

What it all comes down to is the character roster and whether Snake would be taking a spot from someone else that would fit in much better. Snake was ok to me in Brawl, but he c felt like an afterthought in the game.

I hear you, but I also think that it's more of a blessing and a curse with how secretive they are. Because in the face of the other companies announcing and showing new things. It seems like Nintendo really isn't working on much, even though that's not the case. Nintendo needs to get better at promoting and hyping their games. Yes MK8 will sell itself and SmashBros will sell itself, but Bayonetta 2, X and SMTXFE need a heavy promotional push to get a larger interest.
