Sony is doing amazing right now with PS4 and they are flying off the shelves left and right. But something that bothers me is with all of this success and great press why layoff 50 employees from a studio that you just expanded and (cancel a new IP?) not sure if its been confirmed to be officially canceled yet. But it makes me think that we aren't going to have the PS3 Sony that was just willing to take big risk and put out crazy new IP's all of the time. Are they going to become more...
My bet is that just how Microsoft was aggressively marketing for PS3/360 owners to trade up to the XbOne around launch. They'll do another marketing push as extra incentives to those that trade in a 360 for the TitanFall bundle. Not to mention the limited edition controller looks sick...
To be honest I can see how the main Dynasty Warriors have a following in Japan and that seems to be most people's reasoning for the game doing well over there. But NA(not so sure about EU) gets pretty crazy for Zelda related announcements. From what was shown, with those gameplay mechanics and some needed polish. That could do very well in the states, especially if there's a long wait into 2015 for ZeldaU.
I just think that Retro needs to grow in size. We know that Nintendo not to long ago moved Retro's base to a much larger facility. So they could easily grow from being a studio with 97 employees up to say 150-175. That could effectively give them 2 1/2 teams with the manpower to create some major AAA titles for Nintendo.
Why do people like pulling something out that goes against what the corporation Sony said themselves? Sony stated that they are currently selling the PS4 hardware at a loss, but its substantially less than what the PS3 was... This came from Sony, not some random tech website that tried to guesstimate what all the materials cost on Amazon.com to make a PS4 from scratch.
If Nintendo has a hand in it and its a quality title then maybe. But I think they listed this game as coming out in April or something for Japan and no word at all for the states, so that's kind of worrisome. Knowing a game like this, it would probably end up selling much better in the west, seeing as Zelda moves more units in the western territories.
Anyways this will be a quick but just know that the original
Gears of War came out on PC as well. Gears of War was the first major UE3 game that looked nextgen and made people notice. Uncharted was the first PS3 game that proved developers wrong in that the PS3 just needed to be mastered in order to make great games on it. But that was Sony's marching song that they arrived into the next generation...
Even though I own a WiiU I think by the time Titan Fall comes out and up to e3, I believe that's when XbOne will surpass the WiiU. Although MK8 may keep them neck and neck for a little while though...
Please don't make it seem like you are the great debator and such an unbiased gamer! Here's where you make absolutely no sense at all. You seem to point out how Microsoft is the evil of the industry, but what practices are Sony giving that makes them so saintly? You seem to point out big publishers greediness as the reason for studios closing, but look in your own backyard and tell me how many studios have Sony alone closed during the 7th generation.
You talk about Ni...
I guarantee though if I look at your comments on The Order, you probably have praised that game for even less being known about it, just as much as people being hyped for Titan Fall! Its pure hypocrisy on this site... Titan Fall will come out and it will be a big deal because Microsoft will make it so!(the game will probably go down as this gens Gears of War). Now think about what you're saying, 1 game can't make a difference. But clearly that's not the case because GoW did that f...
Listen I don't pretend to understand the culture over in Europe or what they find amazing as far as great games go. Its good to see great games like DK:TF on their charts but these people are losing major credibility with Aliens CM's still being on the charts! Who's buying this horrible, horrible game over there? Really! Seriously! The game sucks... ... ...
Then Nintendo should be spanking everyone at the moment by your logic, because what's already on the WiiU and coming out in 2014. The other systems won't be able to compete with when it comes to exclusives games in 2014!
Here's the thing, people are really sleeping on Titanfall! This game speaks to the CoD fanbase directly and we see how much those games sell every year... For people that use the excuse that its not exclusive because its coming out on the PC as well, just compare CoD PC sales to 360's and the fact that gamers will want to play with their friends on Live. This game hands down was one of the most talked about games at e3 2013 along with The Division, so people need to stop downplaying t...
Not sure if many people in here have watched the TV show The Following? But alot of you crazed Sony fanatics remind me of those cult people. You preach death to anything that isn't Sony and would probably physically harm a person if it came down to defending them in an argument! How would most of you react if Sony goes bankrupt next year? I know that's a hypothetical question, but think about this for a minute. For all the success the PS1, PS2 and even the PS3 have enjoyed in consoles...
As someone else said, even if Nintendo released this as a dlc thing down the line it would be amazing.
What got me the most excited about the track editor rumor was the thought of how amazing the gamepad would finally be used in a first party title! The gamepad was made for this sort of thing...
Customizing carts on the fly, designing tracks with various hazards, twists and loops and then sharing them for multiplayer matches online!
To be honest even if Nintendo had made the GamePad a lil smaller and then put that extra money into the GPU and RAM. People still would have found something negative to gripe about with the system, just look at the Xbone and the criticisms its facing... The Wii and DS made Nintendo a big chunk of change hardware wise, so you can bet investors wanted them to catch lightening in a bottle 3 times. What I would have liked to see Nintendo have done is since the system launched at $350, is to have ...
I think the primary reason is that most of the 3rd party games were developed with 360/PS3 in mind and then ported to the WiiU, not created to exploit the WiiU's true abilities. Games like Project Cars will showcase how big the gap truely is visually between PS4, Xbone and WiiU. What I don't understand is obviously for some reason CryEngine runs amazing on WiiU and why isn't Nintendo working closer with Crytek to get the engine as primary game development engine for the devkits? T...
To be honest Hicken you are kind of a troll though! Looking at your comment history when it comes to Nintendo related articles and you generally only have very negative things to add. There could be an amazing post about a new trailer for Bayonetta 2 and you'll say something along the lines of, oh it doesn't matter because its gonna flop anyways... This article is more on the opinionated side, but it does pose some interesting not so far fetched theories as well.
This guy is reaching hard on his statement, because while I do agree that Nintendo is doing a very poor job of showcasing what makes the controller so unique (asymetrical gameplay). The gamepad is more comfortable and useable in games such as RPG's, Adventure and Racing games than it seems that it might be, being so large of a controller. And I wish we could take a break with trashing the WiiU for not being at the same level hardware wise as PS4 and XbOne. Because both of those systems ar...
