This would be epic if they did have a beta!
As many others have stated this has to be major news because why do a Smash focused direct at this time... Another point that many have aslo brought up is will this game launch earlier than many of us thought it would. My guess is that Nintendo must have so much info on games to share at e3, they are trying to make some room now. It also makes you wonder if Iwata is in really big trouble with the investors and is looking to restore some faith by blazing into e3 with info onto of info.
I don't think we'll see a problem with marketing for MK8 at all! I would like for them to step up the marketing for the lesser known games instead.
I think it has more to do with being able to trash talk a little while playing. I personally don't use this feature when playing online, but I want the people to have it that do normally use it.
To be honest if Nintendo already has parental controls in the software then that should be enough. And the parental controls alone could deactivate or activate which players have access to the in game or party chat.
Its just that a person would sound a little off if they did come out and started hating on the game. Nintendo rarely ever puts out a bad game but what people are more taken by is that this is the first MK game that is a visual showcase for the WiiU hardware. SuperMario, Zelda and Metroid are generally the franchises that push Nintendo hardware. So hopefully this is an indication for those other games when they come
So let me get this straight! The bulk of the media has spent 2yrs raining down hard on Nintendo for the WiiU and now you're telling me that Nintendo games get a pass when getting reviewed... Wow that makes all the sense in the world to me know, I don't know why I didn't think of something that crazy myself.
The difference is that MK8 is trying more different things than Infamous is to improve its genre. And no company gets critiqued more than Nintendo for making another Mario game or Zelda, Metroid and Smashbros. We had 3 Uncharted games on 1 console and UC4 is one of the most wanted PS4 games!
What does that even mean?
The current WiiU install base is not indicative of who will buy MK8 or if they purchased a WiiU for MK8!
It's becoming a harder feat to live up to when donning the Next-gen moniker. When we as gamers hear next generation, we want something that feels fresh innovative and yet familiar all at the same time. Which is a hard thing to do, in trying to get people just as excited about gaming as they were when they experienced their all time favorite game. For me it has to be the 1st time I played Mario 64. Nothing had prepared me for that level of interaction and we continue to play games because ...
I have a little info for you, just because people like MarioKart doesn't mean they already own WiiU's or like Super Mario games for that matter. Its failed logic on your part! For that matter how come the Galaxy games didn't sell to all of the MK Wii owners. It just doesn't work out like that, sorry! Some people are waiting on getting a WiiU for MK8, ZeldaU or SmashBros...
I couldn't agree more! What was most disgusting is how one comment from a poster read like Sony is just taking out the trash or something... Its just aweful how detached people can be in a form of entertainment where we the gamers are directly effected by these upper management decisions.
I thought the same thing when they started talking about all of this info. Man e3 must be packed with information this year!
Seems this will be the first game that Nintendo pushes the online play on...
To be honest MK8 will be the first big online multiplayer game that tests the new Nintendo Network. They stated during the Nintendo minute video that MK8's online will be an exstensive part of the game and they will highlight the features in a future video.
The industry needs to have a resurgence of fun in gaming! It's getting stale trying to chase realism all of the time...
@mysteryraz11:They are eclipsing Ps3/360 games because you guys are comparing completely different stylized games to each other. But an instant measure of performance could be checked by looking at what Platinum Games has produced on both the PS3&360 vs how Bayonetta 2 looks and runs in comparison. Nintendo simply doesn't have a comparable in house WiiU game like GoW Ascension yet. But I'm sure when we see games like Zelda U or a new Metroid game, that will truly be a good point t...
No way and I'm surprised that people still think this. The WiiU is the last dedicated custom chip console where developers need to learn the hardware to get better performance and it's already eclipsing the PS3/360's end of the generation games. My guess is that the 2nd wave of Nintendo in house titles will be an even bigger leap than these over the last gen systems. Sure the WiiU doesn't just have the raw horsepower to instantly add graphical flare like the PS4, but that won&...
I just read 40+ delusional comments by people that have on rosy glasses! I don't think that it should be a major concern right now, but fans should be alarmed. You wouldn't be a true fan if you weren't a little concerned at least! History doesn't always bode well for development companies that have lost major talent due to whatever reasons. Just ask SquareSoft, Rare, Capcom and Sega... These companies are struggling to live up to their past levels of glory and it's primari...
Well I think he mentions this because if I remember correctly, Sakurai himself said that he would love to have a beta for the game and he's the producer. As far as no party chat for MK8, we'll that's a bummer for those that like using the feature but it doesn't take away from the overall game. Hopefully they include a comprehensive match making system to challenge online players with ease. For all we know Nintendo might be updating the OS to include a general method such as Sk...
