And I want to play Uncharted on the next Nintendo system, but what does that solve.
So what do you consider Morpheus or the trackpad on the PS4 controller, or the light bar on the controller? So people need to stop with trying to use gimmick as some negative Nintendo term. All of these companies use some form of gimmicks to hook you into buying. Don't act like your favorite doesn't do such things and is above all of this!
Yeah I think Sega is the perfect company to look at why they shouldn't go 3rd party. The way companies like Nintendo operate just doesn't mix well with Sony and Microsoft's business practices. That's like saying niche car companies should go out of business because a manufacturer like Toyota sells a higher volume. As long as the niche companies are profitable and have a market segment, then variety doesn't hurt. We need more variety in gaming right now... Too many develope...
So Nintendo releases 2 consoles that are lower spec and that changes all of gaming history all of the sudden. Do I wish that the WiiU was more powerful, yes. But that still doesn't change the fact that the games are excellent on WiiU. it's always going to be something, if Nintendo's next system has 3 tflops in power and PS5 has 5 tflops. People will still complain about how far behind Nintendo is, even though those specs aren't that far off! PS5 isn't going to be putting a...
Nintendo must make their own hardware to deliver software on, if they are to keep the soul of the company in tact. Apple is the perfectly mirror image of where Nintendo wants to be in gaming. Playstation and Microsoft gamers wouldn't buy Nintendo games the way they do 3rd party games. Just look at how similar games to what Nintendo offers sells on these systems. Games like Knack have to be bundled in to spread the game to decent numbers. Nintendo's IP overall would shrink because Nint...
As much hate that Nintendo gets, years from now we could be looking back on them like how Apple was in a very niche area with their products. They turned things around and are in a position where they created a whole family segment of products you buy if you're interested in Apple and that ecosystem. ITunes is what revolutionized this area for Apple though, so to me Nintendo needs this same kind of breakthrough on delivering software through one channel to multiple devices and hopefully t...
How many people were previous owners of the game on PS3 went out and bought it again for PS4 because they knew it was a great game? So just pointing out what the game sold does nothing for the fact that it's mostly people who played these games already stating that they plan on picking it up again. Sure it's a reason to re release old games, but don't keep using the excuse of we did it to satisfy the players that never owned Playstation devices.
For the people defending the load times, (I'm not talking about the people who are stating that the game will be fixed with a day one patch) but the ones saying stuff like "well you just shouldn't die" I'll get up and reflect on what it is that I did wrong". Where does this type of thinking come from? When these consoles were announced wasn't this one of the many next-gen features that were trumpeted around about the games of this generation. Not taking anything...
Can we get off one excuse please. Please stop saying that Sony is doing this for the new Playstation customers that didn't own PS3's last generation. There 80 million plus PS3's out there. So I truly believe that the people who didn't play these games are in the minority. Most owned both a 360 and PS3 so it really feels like a weak excuse to me.
I would agree with this if he was known for making a bunch of franchises outside of Metal Gear. Plus I don't think that Nintendo would be against someone of his caliber making a new franchise. It could mean more in his career if we looked back on this moment and said that he was a major factor in the reinvention of Nintendo's branding image.
So I know everyone wants to see Kojima at Sony and there would be nothing really shocking about it if something like that happens. But I would like to see something shocking in the industry like him going over to the helm of Retro Studios to work on the next Metroid Prime and Eternal Darkness. That's 2 franchises that I think he could do wonders with and Nintendo could use a big positive like that going forward.
What you have stated is dead on! I can't agree more that it all boils down to Nintendo didn't make the fad or trendy console this time around. Their public perception doesn't help towards the gaming trend that majority of perceived hard core games have guns and violence in them for no reason. This is why I keep saying that Nintendo should partner with Samsung or someone else as the face of the hardware. Also a Nintendo SteamOS system could get 3rd party games by being Steam compat...
More dollars, yen, rupies!
Why would Nintendo get on the Titanic? Yes the company is selling PS4's, but even Sony doesn't know why they're selling so good! A partnership with Disney, Samsung, Apple or Valve would be the only tie up to guarantee a financial successful future. Not to mention that most Nintendo fans actually like game play first in their games, so the audience are mostly different.
You clearly aren't reading the same comment sections from the many articles here on N4G. Nintendo's stock has gone through the roof, not just because Nintendo is developing smartphone specific games. But because Nintendo are taking measures to grow their income and expand their overall reach into gaming.
Why are people trying to guess what project NX is So early? They just announced that more information will be shared next year, but people are assuming that it's a successor to the WiiU based on nothing.
What's funny to me is how upset people are about this news, probably because it actually has turned out favorable for Nintendo... Do people hate the company that much, to despise everything that they do?
Nah Id rather Nintendo stick around and let Sony or Microsoft drop out. Neither are providing much variety from the other, which Sega and Nintendo did in their day.
This is why many people say there is a bias against Nintendo, because it really doesn't matter what they announce. People want to claim it's the wrong move and deemed to be a failure!
I don't care how bad 3rd party games sell on Nintendo systems, if Nintendo were lining their pockets all of these games would be on WiiU. The fact that the 3DS is only supported by Japanese 3rd party developers is proof of this that it's not about sells. People act like it's so hard and expensive to port to WiiU, but Ubisoft said very early on that it only costs roughly 1 million dollars to do a straight port from the 360.
This is why I feel that Nintendo needs to...
