Yeah but these consoles really didn't start with a robust marketplace for smaller indie developers to sale their games. Alot of development houses closed shop this gen alone, more-so than any other generation before this.
The reason I don't want games to be all about graphics and which big budget titles sold the most this gen. Is because in the end what would we have, an EA, Activision and Ubisoft only with no small indie dev houses, because it ends up being way to expensive to support these kind of consoles in the future! No thanks... Gaming this gen already jumped to $60 a pop for each game and many people question at times whether or not they are getting their monies worth now out of titles they buy.

The reasons why Nintendo developed titles tend to be more polished is because they have the freedom in releasing it on their own hardware. Well I don't think that the casual market cares much about the specs of the WiiU that's for sure. But people here act as if core gamers are such blind loyalist and will play on nothing but the next PS system or Xbox. When just a couple of cycles ago, neither company existed in the console gaming realm. So why would anyone think that if Nintendo actually does right by an HD console, that core gamers won't buy it?
Well I for one wouldn't want them to announce another Zelda so soon after Skyward Sword just released last year. Let the creative minds at EAD have some play time with the new hardware first! Why would the industry be shaken by a MGS5 announcement? Unless this is Kojima's last game or last Metal Gear game, I don't think anything else will shake the industry really... He was quoted awhile back saying that he wanted to move on to other things. Who knows what he has planned though!

This article doesn't even make sense because here is a youtube video showing that the WiiU version is clearly sporting sharper more detailed graphics. Just look at the character models and detail on the WiiU screen versus the PS3(The side by side comparison isn't in the same area, but its showing off very similar actions though). I don't think these are official quotes from Ubisoft and probably just, made up like the Eurogamer article was!

People don't fully understand how porting works! Yes Ubisoft is porting the game code and structure of the game to the WiiU and PC. But its more than obvious that the PC and WiiU versions won't be using the same texture artwork or effects from the PS3/360 builds.
