I love how everyone is like "NO IT SHOULD BE MIKAMI"
Well, if you did even a little research you'd know that mikami is working on something that bethseda is publishing. As far as cliff goes, it couldn't hurt. I mean, Cliff knows how to design good game play mechanics. RE6 played like hot trash. Even if he's not director of the game, pairing him up with someone like takeuchi could work.
And I don't understand this whole thing with everyone bri...
So this article isn't about the band?
I have been tricked.
This game ruined my life. I have no less than 2 hours in it every night since I got it two weeks ago.
Basically.
I'm right there with you dude.
I think people need to stop complaining it's not an hd skinned version of the original, and realize it's a different take on it.
First of all, just cut MOH2 out right then.
IMO, XCOM is more refreshing than dishonored. I hope both do well though. I'm not to worried about dishonored, because it's a game largely about stabbing dudes which will communicate well with people. But there really isn't anything on modern consoles that's like xcom. You have to play it to really get it.
Seriously, you will drown in xcom.
My GOTY.
The only other game I'm getting this year is Halo 4.
But man i dont think it will top xcom for me.
Skyrim is more impressive than dishonored.
Do you understand the concept of dice-rolling? It will help you understand why a shotty can miss point blank. It's not a beholden to shooter archetypes in that fps sense. It's based on probability if you're shot isn't 100% chance to hit, it can miss.
It's becasue it's a game.
Things miss, because they are percentiles. Just because something has an 80 percent chance of hitting doesn't mean it always will.
As for resource management, it's a game in a world where earth is being invaded by aliens. the logic is right there. If that's the case you can open a whole can of worms there.
How come Nathan Drake is still a protagonist when he basically turns the game into a genocid...
I would literally recommend this game to everyone.
goty candidate.
Dude I am with you. I don't play strategy games. I never have. The only thing i had to go on was that it was turnbased, and I figured I loved pokemon once upon a time, so i'll check out the demo. thought it was a good demo, so I got rid of dishonored for it.
11 hours later (got it on friday) and it is just fantastic. It's not just a strategy game, or an rpg, it's also this weird survival horror element and just a brilliant meta game.
It may be...
It's not a failure. Far from it. IMO it just didn't live up to the promises I felt Arkane was making. Which were pretty lofty but that's just me. Objectively, I think it's hard to deny that it's a quality game, even if it's disappointing in some ways.
THe only bioshock like thing I saw in the game, was the mana/health bars and dual wielding weapons, and the world building. Dunwall is really awesome, but the core game play wasn't as impressive as i thought it would be.
Personally, I feel this game is being a little romanticized. Having played it for about 10 hours, I just don't see the depth some claimed. I don't feel there are enough tools in the sandbox. I mean, the game definetely wants you to play stealthily.
There's a solid combat system, but it's really a contingency plan, not the true way the expect you to play. And that's what baffles me, for all the weapon upgrades that seem to want you to go into straight comb...
I actually thought dishonored was gonna be the sleeper hit.
After playing both, I definitely think that will be xcom. It's far more distinct of a game.
There really isn't anything like it on modern consoles . Lovin it
