When they entered the market, they did things very well. They listened to what consumers wanted and designed a game console around that. But in time, they let their greed get the best of them and they slowly began ignoring what consumers wanted. While once a big fan and purchaser of their systems at launch, I've withdrawn my support for them indefinitely.
My only advice for Microsoft at this point is: Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
There will always be competition coming and going (Sega, 3DO, Atari, etc.). It's just that many would prefer if it wasn't from the likes of MS.
Or it proves that most people here are smart enough to understand that 7+ million sold to customers, is much greater than shipping 5 million (and subsequently having to hit the breaks on production).

I think they'll have to drop it down to $349. And even then I'm not sure that boost would continue in momentum without killer exclusives. There's also the matter of consumer trust if they do such a large drop. So they'd have to do something like Nintendo did with the 3DS and reward early adopters. Simply owning a system prior to a major price drop is not a reward in itself.
Its quite sad you feel the need to name call others because the majority of gamers don't share your opinion. Contrary to what you suggest, its people like you that give gamers a bad name on any site.

What they're designed for and what you use them for, are two totally different things.
Heh. While I still have both my original Xbox (and 360), I believe all but a very few Xbox titles were eventually released on PC and other platforms. The only ones I think that are still exclusive are Project Gotham Racing, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Phantom Dust, MechAsault, Conker, Fusion Frenzy, Voodoo Vince and Brute Force.
Other than that, Halo 1, 2, JSR, Kotor 1, 2, Fable and Jade Empire all made their way over to PC. All the other titles I can think of are multi-plats.
There's still day one editions kicking around? Yikes.
