Ken Levine. Is he not working on anything at the moment?
I personally can't stand the term as well and refer to them as, “interlinked backtracking” or, “interlinked” games for short.
The term isn’t used in any other way, and it fits the way these games worlds are presented. You start off within individual sections of a much larger world map, and slowly you start gaining new-found access points (usually due to new abilities) that eventually link the entire game world together.
Unfortunately, yes.

Its important to take story context into perspective here. The Umbrella Corporation is taking advantage of the impoverished people of Africa, by performing experiments on them, far away from the eyes of 24/7 newscasters.
Given the context, the game makes sense.
75% of the Kickstarter supporters opted for the PS4 version. That leaves us with 25% for PC supporters.
So far, most 'sales' from Kickstarter have been on PS4.
Leisure Suit Larry 6: Shape Up or Slip Out! had a re-release one year after original release which featured enhanced visuals and full voice acting.

That said, I'm not entirely sure if this accurate or not. I would have thought that they'd promote / announce this just 2 weeks ago at E3. A website's source code is not conf...
Literally this. What makes buffoons think that the ESRB / CERO / PEGI ratings systems would allow that type of content? It would be barred from receiving a rating, and thus barred from being sold in the first place.
The issue Sony has is that even if a game success passes through ESRB / CERO / PRGI rating systems (thus meaning they feature LEGAL CONTENT), they further decide whether or not the game is appropriate. That's true censorship right there. That's Sony'...
The issue is that sexual content from Western developers is okay, The Order 1886, and Wolfenstein has featured plenty of sex and nudity on PS4.
Sony wants to censor Japanese games, despite the fact that they often don't feature nudity (they're covered up with their arms or an object in the enviornment, or wear tiny bikinis, etc.).
Western artistic design titties = Sony says yes.
Asian artistic design titties = Sony says no.
It's hypocritical B.S...
I wish I could upvote this 100 times.
Sick of what most modern day gaming has to offer.
A VR mode would be fine, but not to mandate VR only! I don't want a gimmick-game. Just give me a damn traditional platformer with standard controls from previous Ape Escape games. Don't try to reinvent the concept of Ape Escape especially after being on hiatus for so long.
Just me give a traditional Ape Escape game on my 1080p HDTV and that's that! Anything less and there's going to be endless complaints. Remember what happened to Ape Escape On the Move? Very few peop...
This is said *every* *single* *year* since 2014. This thought process doesn't work anymore.
Okay, but MS has shut down a lot of studios over the years that used to make quirky games just like Double Fine do. Hoping for the best for them!
Super Puzzle Fighter II is a very good game, and I say this as a person who normally doesn't like those types of block puzzle games.
If you've never played it before, don't skip it just because you think it looks like crap. Play it, give it a fair chance, you may be surprised.
@Shiken, you're right, everyone else is wrong. High quality early 3D games are still fun to play today, this concept that 'they haven't aged well' is just wrong. I say this as a person who's been playing a lot of PS1 / Saturn / N64 games recently.
PS Classic flopped not because of graphics, but because it was a rushed out turd released to make a quick buck during the holiday period. Sony put no thought, no intelligence and no effort into the product. The...
That may be true, but how long will they keep Double Fine around if they aren't making big profits like these massive conglomerates expect? Its all fine and dandy right now, but five years down the line? Ten years? I hope they don't get shut down by then.
Even as a fan of polygonal boobs, and strongly anti-censorship I think Tifa's chest is the right size in the remake. I don't want her having those comically large jugs bouncing all around like Dead or Alive. I want her to be taken seriously as a badass fighter, and not some waifu sex doll.
Don't get mad over this, its not worth it. Her model looks realistic and beautiful as is.
"Enhance the user's experience" translates to: "We'll stop modders from having full access to the console for 2-5 days at best, only for the process to repeat with yet another 'enhance users experience' update soon enough."
The updates themselves don't bother me, its the fact that they flat out lie (what is being 'enhanced'?) and use terms like 'stability' instead of 'security' as if it makes a difference. Just...
MS's conference was alright, nothing special outside of Keanu Reeves.
However Nintendo's Direct was really awesome for me. TWO Mana games, Panzer Dragoon, Luigi's Mansion, Banjo-Kazooie in Smash?! No More Heroes 3! Come on! It was packed with awesome game announcements. Good times ahead for Switch owners.
As for the other stuff, I agree that big budget gaming has been stagnating for the past few years now. Too many grindy open-world zombie copy-paste co...
This is all old news since Stadia had a beta test last year with AC:O, which I was a part of. As a Comcast Xfinity subscriber I had to constantly check my data usage without going over the limit. It wasn't difficult to do, but tedious and I had to stop using the internet for other things, such as YouTube and Hulu to 'save' my bandwidth limit for the month to play AC:O. That made it very clear to me streaming is not the future of gaming.
If its a new Contra game, then its going to be for mobile and be packed with microtransactions to purchase extra lives, or a pachinko / pachislot 'game'.
If this game is coming to consoles / PC then its very likely to be a compilation of classics much like Castlevania just had. Easy money digging into their past releases, no effort, no budget, no need for talented game designers when you're simply porting fan favorite classics.
What a shame to see what Konami has...
Lazy, sloppy, pathetic attempt. It deserved to fail. The fact that they thought they were doing the right thing by purposefully not include analog controllers is laughable. What a shame!
