I have to agree, Metroid Prime was one of the most overrated games of the era, I beat it, got the best ending, and wasn't satisfied with it overall. I skipped Prime 2 and 3, I'll skip Prime 4.
Tecmo's Metroid game was also lackluster, with a ridiculous story, and poor game design.
Honestly, give me a Metroid game by Platinum Games, with less back tracking, and a more focused game design. That's the only way I'll be interested.
I don't understand why you would say that. Uncharted 1, MGS 4, Ridge Racer 7 (severely underappreciated!), Motorstorm, and Folklore are all exclusives and all came out within the first two years of PS3. There's plenty more I'm forgetting.
According to article:
"When Microsoft introduced the Xbox One in 2013, it was the industry leader in video game consoles with the Xbox 360."
Excuse me? By what metric, exactly? Wii was the #1 selling platform, PS3 out sold the 360 world wide. Near the end of the console lives, Sony was dropping hits like Uncharted 3, the Last of Us, Puppeteer and more. MS was dropping misses with Gears Judgement, Halo 4, and plenty of Kinect games no one wanted. So how ex...
@shaggy2303
"But it still sold 24% on Xbox, you think a developer/publisher just doesn't care for that 24% increase in sales? "
This is false logic. Its not a 24% increase in sales, because if it was exclusive to PS4, all multiplatform owners who had bought it for Xbox One would have simply bought it for PS4 since there was no other choice. The only increase of sales % is people who don't own PS4, but do own Xbox One and would have purchased the g...
You could play every game in the series, and you still can't figure out the story, so having the HD collection on Xbox One wouldn't help in that regard anyway!
The music is way too epic for a low-budget likely terrible QTE video game.
Kojima...? You mean Tetsuya Nomura.
Poor Hideo Kojima getting blamed for games he has nothing to do with.
40 hour story mode, 30 hours of which is filler and grinding (which you can bypass with microtransactions, I'm sure).
Ugh, what drivel.
"The Xbox One X is the clearest example. Microsoft’s flagship console is so superior to the PS4 Pro that it’s reasonable to think the only reason to buy a Pro is to play PlayStation’s outstanding collection of console exclusives. That’s a very good reason, but virtually every cross-platform game looks and plays better on the One X."
Once again, focusing so much on graphics. Okay, but games have to go beyond visuals, game mechan...
Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Odyssey are at the top of the list.
Its funny how everyone was hating on AC from Revelations (2011) through Syndicate (2015), but now all of a sudden, people like the series again? Even though the games are worse than ever before?
The lore is dead. The combat is still trash (its certainly changed but it still sucks). The character I'm most interested in is reduced to about 10 minutes of actual playtime, the ...
Will there never be such masterful creators like NeverSoft again. They were the only people who truly understood how to make amazing skateboarding games. They will be missed by me forever.
In order to compete with Ubisoft in 'open world games', you have to make your game worlds so huge and boring, with nothing but repetitive grindy filly pointless pretend content objectives to complete.
So not being able to compete with Ubisoft in 'open world games' is a blessing, not a bane.
I own two Wii U's... whats my prize?
Quoting the article:
"And is there any reason, aside from games, to buy either console?"
Really? This feel like they're reaching hard to offer an assist to a console that may have less interesting games to play on it. Hmm.
Look up a game called VOLUME on PS4 / Vita. Its inspired by MGS VR Missions.

Its simply really, there are games I am excited for on PS4 and Switch. Can't really think of anything on Xbox One that has me excited. When it comes to dominating my wallet and playtime, Microsoft is currently sitting at 0 in each category.
Shallow fluff moment, with heavy-handed, dry, forgettable teleprompter dialog.
Konami is on bad terms with Geoff, so there's no way in hell an MGS game would appear at the Game Awards.
It would be a better game on PC? Outside of maybe framerate (PS4 version will likely be 30 FPS), I don't see how that's possible.
- Would NaughtyDog get a larger budget making games for PC over PS4? No.
- Would NaughtyDog receive a longer development period making games for PC over PS4? No.
- Would NaughtyDog suddenly become a more talented development studio making games for PC over PS4? No.
Outside of framerate and visual fidel...
