Being a fan of Conan since 1997, I couldn't down vote you hard enough.
He's right... just look at how all big budget games follow the same checklist:
Experience points grinding (even outside of the RPG genre).
Ability points / Skill trees.
Crafting / Upgrading equipment.
Pointless collectibles just for the false pretense of Trophy / Achievement "replay value"
Huge open map with almost no variety to your objectives, instead perform the same generic task in each region.
Lackluster storyt...
I rented it for free to play with for a single day. I was so bored from beginning to end. Sure I like Bethesda's style of retro humor, and those flying robots have cute things to say. But the game was so painfully boring. A massive open world with only 24 people online per server? I barely saw anyone, and the people that I did see, I didn't interact with any of them, nor did they interact with me.
The game feels unbalanced especially early on as well. I was level 2,...
So many controllers, so few games to play them with.
"Forever" means "as long as its profitable."
What did you expect from Activision? They're trying to nickle and dime you non-stop. Just stop buying their products. If they can't learn their lesson, let them go under. Its not like they make anything of value anymore as it is.
Then why are you here posting instead of playing games?
Developers who want to make single player games that aren't packed with microtransactions are finding it harder to work in the industry, publishers don't want to support them anymore. What a shame. Both her and Amy Hennig made terrible career choices joining EA. Hopefully they learn from this and not repeat the same mistake (i.e. going to work for Activision / Microsoft).
You're 37 years old with the mentality of a 7 year old. What an embarrassment.
Yes, games budgets have ballooned. So what? That's NOT OUR PROBLEM! Stop making it seem like its a problem THAT WE GAMERS HAVE TO FIX! We are not here to fix the problems of multi-billion dollar conglomerates.
AC 1 cost $20 million to make, AC IV BlackFlag cost $120 million to make, and that was on the same generation of consoles. Why? Because Ubisoft got extremely gre...
There is no questioning it. The grinding B.S. of this tired, retread of a game was premeditated and predatory, specifically designed for gamers like you who have no willpower.
You went out of your way to buy this game, even though you knew full well that it was a grind-fest, and yet you still gave in to Ubisoft's MT B.S.
Be ashamed of your words and deeds.
The reason why it reminds you of Origins is because its basically a reskin of last year's game.
Same art assets.
Same animations.
Same clunky combat.
Same boring brain-dead enemies.
Same generic repetitive quests and collectibles disguised as "content."
Same grinding for level ups and same type of skill tree.
OH! But now there's DIALOG OPTIONS in this year's game! Wow. :|
Good to see you on a VIDEO GAME WEBSITE complaining about REAL LIFE PROBLEMS not related to VIDEO GAMES.
If you care so much about people being beheaded, farmers being rushed around, and child soldiers, please go out into the REAL WORLD and do something about it. N4G.com is not the place to help people in the REAL WORLD.
Pretty sure Origins already did that. Also there are other games do that as well. I'm really starting to resent the game industry.
What a joke. Did Ubisoft pay you to write this drek?
Article title: "No, You Don’t Need to Grind to Beat Assassin’s Creed Odyssey"
Article text: "To make things perfectly clear, yes, you do have to complete side quests if you want to meet the level requirements for all the main missions. The game’s structure is pretty simple: you’ll finish a handful of main missions in one area, then go to a new region, where a new batch of fresh main and s...
I've been harping about this for weeks on N4G and been downvoted for doing so. This is exactly what I was worried about, just another generic, boring, open-world, hack-and-slash, filler title with infinite grind, even worse than the trash known as Origins.
This is unacceptable, and yet people buy into these games from all publishers. Its just so frustrating because the more you buy into these games the more they get made and the further they push microtransactions that ...
It is unfortunate, I wish Sony didn't drop the system and released some lower budget quirky games like Nintendo does with DS / 3DS. Stuff like BoxBoy, or WarioWare. Alas, history has written off the Vita in the same way Wii U has been written off.
I own 4 Vitas and 1 Vita TV so I'll never have to worry about the future if one or two Vitas break on me.
Agreed! When Sega announced the HD remasters I was overjoyed seeing as how I love both these games. But then when Sega did not state who was porting these games AND announced that they were coming out in less than half a year's time, I began to worry.
Almost every single HD remastering ported by a team different from the original creators has been a sloppy, bug-riddled mess of a port. Now I'm not trying to be too harsh to D3T studio, only 10 people worked on this po...
As a huge AC fan up to part III (yes I'm aware of the criticisms of part III), Origins was a boring, bland, generic, sloppy, open world run-of-the-mill hack and slash adventure game.
Pointless story, bad combat, dumbed down freerunning (less options available than the earlier AC games!), and copious amounts of repetitive grind filler "content".
Content for the sake of content.
Game sales for the sake of game sales.

(*sigh*) Am I the only one tired of constantly seeing this game in the news all the time? There's so many other games that could be discussed rather than this one.
Excuse me? Guillermo del Toro's, Mad Mikkelsen's, Norman Reedus', Lea Seydoux's, and Lindsey Wagner's faces and voices are already in the game. Think your comment through one more time.
Anyway, its 99% likely that Conan's face will NOT be in the game, and at best, he'll do a voice for some fourth-string NPC or comrade of yours. He'll also probably do a Clueless Gamer video segment on Death Stranding as well.
Either way, thi...
