AC was ruined when Odyssey became a boring slog EXP grind fest, low effort game design.
It has different combat controls than earlier games, but nothing has been improved, still trash combat. Simplified movement controls that take options away from the player. Top it all off with meaningless stories that go nowhere in the overarching plot, its literally just like running on a treadmill going nowhere.

Just to be clear, there's nothing wrong with supporting good sports games that respect the gamer / fan base, but trash incomplete games like this, and EA games where they monetize so much, do not respect the player.
That still constitutes as supporting a trash publisher, and only encourages them to continue awful business practices. Don't give them any bit of your money, don't support the "patch it later" mentality. Play the first 5 Smackdown! games on PS1 and PS2 instead, or even the 6 AKI games on N64 (two are JP exclusive).

My DS4 lasts longer than 4 hours, my Pro Controller doesn't last 40 hours. So many lies.
While I agree, most big budget games are boring grindy trash, nothing more than an excuse to create a digital storefront within the game itself. However, indie game developers have filled in the void when it comes to unique and interesting game ideas.

Build quality is always an issue. Analog stick drifting will occur sooner, buttons get "sticky" (as in they don't pop up instantaneously even if its brand new), if the batteries are built-in, then they are of a lower quality that dies out within a couple of years.
I have the official pro controller, its damn good. I'd rather pay more and get quality, than pay less, but have to buy 3 knock-offs that will last me what a single official controller would last me.
We've had PC and phone emulation for many years now. How are these 'mini' devices anything different? Honestly, what saves classic gaming more, are all those EverDrive style carts, which allow you to play everything on official hardware, with zero emulation issues, and on a CRT with proper 240p.
So to answer your question, no, it can't save classic gaming, but it doesn't need to be saved. The people who make emulators and EverDrives are the ones who save...
