Agreed, the last two games were the worst in the series for me. Throwaway stories, terrible game design with nothing new or interesting added. Bland game mechanics that hasn't caught up to the rest of the industry's standards. They're not even "RPGs" its just an excuse to make them grindy to artificially extend the length of the game, to up-sell you more items from their digital storefront (the real reason Ubisoft makes games these days are the digital storefront!).
While I don't share the same sentiment, I did enjoy renting TF2 for the campaign. It was quick, breezy, fun, but ultimately forgettable. I don't care for CoD-style multiplayer, so I never touched it.
Jedi Order is fun as well, but also very much an amalgamation of many previous games that have come before, while also lacking in polish featuring plenty of goofy / glitchy animations.
I'm glad to see Respawn see some success, especially after their tumultu...
Interesting how you mention build quality... let's see:

NICE! I got my special edition signed by Kojima in 2008 as well! Its a treasured part of my gaming collection.
I played FF13 for the first time in 2016, years after reading about how bad it was. So I came in expecting a terrible game. Instead I got a game that I really enjoyed from start to finish. Yeah, it was linear for the first 60% of the adventure, and that didn't bother me at all. In fact it was quite the opposite, I found the linearity a breath of fresh air amongst all the so-big-I'm-getting-annoyed game worlds of the modern era.
FF13-2 felt like a downgrade with plen...
Its always interesting to read Takahashi's thoughts. He claims he doesn't know what a toy is!
Unfortunate that Sony had to cancel the game, however the game was poorly executed originally (according to Takahashi, not me!), so in a way its a good thing that they got to do-over on an improved game engine.
I paid $53 for the physical edition (shipping in Spring / Summer 2020!) along with a Wattam lanyard.
I've been saying this for years now. Games are getting too big, but there's no benefit. With each game in the Assassin's Creed series, the game world gets bigger and bigger. It was fine, and remained fine until Origins which just went overboard. So much dead space boring sand and cliffs that isn't fun to traverse. The sequel went even bigger, it became absolutely absurd! Its the only game in the series where I haven't completed it 100% and I don't even care to.
Agreed. Look at Nintendo Switch. Completely cut ties from Wii (casual console) and Wii U (flop console).
If Nintendo had stuck with the Wii moniker it would have been a terrible business decision.
MS is keeping similar branding to the Xbox One series of systems with the Xbox Series X.
And the name is just lame all around. Too many letter X's in the title, ease up on that, and be more creative or be more logical.
Xbox 4 (standard power)
I want to give you 100 upvotes just for mentioning GUN, King Kong, and Tony Hawk's American Wasteland. Three great games!
@CorndogBurglar
Of course he hasn't been paying attention. He only selectively remembers when MS does something that he can boast about. There's a good chance that he's a paid shill by MS (wouldn't put it past them) to share disinformation.
Two years "ruff (sic) patch"... Just two years, huh? They've bungled the *entire generation* since 2013. They even bungled the later years of the 360 with trash Kinect. Its been 8 years si...
"I thought it was widely regarded as the best design"
It's not.
Bad D-pads.
Bad bumpers that curve too much (you have to stretch a tiny bit more to reach than L1 R1, which feel better)
Bad face buttons (they are convexed which actually can be unpleasant to press rapidly for say a sports game, hack and slash, or fighting game).
Rarely the 360 analog triggers will pinch my fingers due to the gap between the trigger a...
Both games aren't out yet, however we already know in advance which game is 'infinitely better'? How can you see the future?
Its okay to desire one game more than the other, but don't fabricate a future.
I would have loved it being called XBOX 4! But that would have required intelligence and an understanding that stupid shite product names is bad for business (such as Wii U). Clearly, with all the billions in MS's pocket, they can't hire anyone like us that understands this.
They did not learn anything. Nothing at all. They keep over-using the letter X to the point of annoyance.

The entire series of consoles have had dumbass names. People try to come up with the reasoning behind the name, but nothing can salvage the stupidity of it all.
STOP USING THE LETTER "X" SO MUCH! Enough is enough! Just look at this embarrassment:

Kojima is very humble, respectful and appreciative, I don't see why you believe he has a lack of humility.
During the development of MGS 4, Kojima found out that the voice actor for Solid Snake, Akio Otsuka, had a falling out with his father for many years, Chikao Otsuka, who also happened to be a well accomplished voice actor (doing the voice for Dr. Eggman and many other characters).
When Kojima found out, he wanted to do something to bring them tog...
Price have been increasing in a round-about way. Publishers are using as many tactics as possible to get as much money as possible without increasing the base barrier of entry of $60.
- pre-order DLC (that's almost always throw away crap)
- over priced DLC packs
- season passes
- microtransactions for 'time savers', loot boxes, experience points upgrades, currency upgrades, resource upgrades, costumes, etc.
- battle passes

Excellent news, will be purchased!
If you have not played these games before, definitely keep them on your radar.
I never did beat challenge 6 in Vanquish though, its extremely hard, but on PS4 / Xbox One running at 60 FPS it should be more manageable.
My post was clear, but I'll try again for those are that particularly slow.

- Jason West, Vince Zampella, and other game developers worked on Medal of Honor games for EA.
- They quit and went to Activision to form Infinity Ward and make CoD.
- Then they got fired / quit (hard to say) and re-joined EA to form Respawn.
This was big news in the past, lots of headlines previously.
