There was supposed to be that whole storyline where Widow hit menopause :P, I guess they'll write it out now.
It would have been better to not show it. Besides the fact that the character models are ugly and bland, the trailer was uninspired. They also didn't even try to differentiate the game from the movies by keeping the same outfit but filling them with boring faces and voice acting. One year away from release and this is it, kinda weird. It looks like the trailer for an high-end mobile game.
For all we know, Fox made that deal months ago while Disney has only effectively owned Fox for like a month now.
I really believe in a one console only way, 3rd party consumes already much of my gaming time and then you add 1st party and I'm full. And when it comes to diversity in 1st party games, I really like what PS brings to the table. No hate with Ninty or X but they're really conservative, stick mainly to the same franchises, not really my thing.
The creative control is limited to movie, but the revenue are split even all over the map including games, cartoons, books and merch. The deal Marvel did back in the days was going further than the one they made with Fox, Universal and Constantin. So pushing the Spider-Man brand is in Sony's interest.
Hopefully the success of the redesign of the franchise will result in a bigger budget for the sequel, bigger scale, more main moss. But to be honest, I didn't feel like something was missing with this one.
It depends on the exclusives, will Metroid drop this, will TLOU Part 2 drop this year. Also Ninty consoles (except the Wii) has its core audience and they mostly buy the console fast whereas other consoles grab many casual gamers over time once the price drops, the library gets bigger. I say the Switch already sold half/40% of its all-time, so I don't see it beating the PS4 this year.
I would add Resistance and Killzone. If I would have to bump two games out your list to make the place for mine, I would Knack because even thought I enjoyed them, they were missing something, the story wasn't flowing at all..and Driveclub just because I'm not into racing games and it didn't seem to appeal to many people though with a tweak or two it could go very mainstream, go full arcade.
The same way some gamers represent gamers as a whole in a bad way, some games represented the industry badly. Who could forget Evolve, Mighty No 9, Star Wars Battlefront II, Colonial Marines, Watch Dogs and so on. I think gamers got burned so bad that some games suffer because of something looking like a mistake from the past and the joke that was puddlegate is a proof of that.
As much as I would love a Killzone revival, I would take Resistance first, any day of the week.
Maybe they could blend the two series somehow.
It certainly didn't peak visually as this will never stop, but the area where it's so young is the story part of games. Games like Mass Effect, the Arkham games, Last of Us and many more push gaming to be more than it's been before by a mile. Even though I'm a gamer, I was willing to say games were not art and I think it's no longer acceptable to say. Full blown stories, performance capture, that's the area I can't wait the next gen to push forward even more.
Nice, this will be my first Yakuza game and might get hooked and replaying Bulletstorm will be a blast for sure!
They should, but on top of it with the type of release (timed exclusive) they had with Rise, at least to me it became a series that I'm not in a hurry to play. I'll get around to this one but at a certain price or when nothing else is going on.
I say they should make a proper Killzone 4, if not then Resistance.
No Until Dawn, I mean, c'mon!
No, it will bring it close enough but I think the 100M units breaker will be this year's Black Friday.
Wouldn't or would? ;)
Just kidding, but yeah, I think it will make it only to next gen.
I think it wins because it dares to check all the boxes, not just a 2-3 of them :
-Platformers with Ratchet 2016, Knack 1 and 2, etc
-Sports with The Show series, Everybody's Golf
-Driving with Gran Turismo Sports, Driveclub
-Open world with inFamous SS, Horizon
-Action with Uncharted 4, The lost Legacy, Days Gone, Bloodborne, Spider-Man, 1886, God of War
-Horror with Until Dawn
-Story driven with Last of Us II, Detroit
inFamous 2 evil ending was great, I still watch that Zeke part once in a while.
Anthem had hype, it's more like Duke Nukem Forever where you talk about, mostly negatively, it looks bad, you entertain the idea of playing but unless there's a drought of games, you wont't play it. It's released at the end of a gen where out there games get to show potential, last awesome AAA get out, who needs a bland franchise backed game...
