God Of War - It proves you can take an old formula flip it and make it a whole new thing without alienating the previous fan. It's also the most perfect game of this generation.
Last Of Us II - A perfect sequel, it answers any questions the first one created and then some. In terms of videogames pushing a narrative, it takes risks just as the first one did but the story is so much more intricate, flashbacks, complicated themes, mirror narratives and all that good stuff....
After the subscription obsession, AAAA is the new fad that's so stupid. And even if let's say it exists, like AAAA is a AAA that is flawless, ambitious and groundbreaking, to have 4 of them in dev right now, and Ubi on top of it, sure. That's like EA saying Madden 22 will be their first AAAA sports title.
They really need it because the game is still not up to par, new games will keep it alive while they resolve current issues. They replaced servers problems by waiting 30 seconds for no new players to complete the 60, even losing some, physics need to be constant and better, remove the games that didn't stick with the community, add stats and match filters.
They also could change that camera direction when you start slime climb. Also nice to see that I'm no longer a yellow exclusive more or less.
Hopefully there will be a bigger update coming soon to at least add stats and maybe standardize the physics, falling like your feet are dead while racing but bean boys trying to block the rolling ball at an angle are effing pillars, it's getting boring.
The whole thing is a tad weird, it's like when you see a movie that's CG heavy movie but the budget is 15M, even though it looks good you notice cheating in the effects that you rarely see in true blockbusters. Same here, the concept is really cool and who knows how far they are in dev, but that does sound like a small budget game trying hard to play the big budget AAA game, but you can see that the animations of the characters and environment is a bit off.
If they can fix their servers and remove the dumb boring games (tail based, tip toe, that memory square thingy), and add a few more "talent" related race, it would be a smashing game. Right now it's randomness on top of randomness where you kinda input some abilities to qualify.
Then why put the emphasis during the big show like two weeks ago, describing it as a holiday 2020 game, talking how the multiplayer will be free to play, 10 minutes gameplay and all. Even saying 2021 is a bit odd knowing the game looked early dev. Graphics were awful and so was the physic and that weird mspaint grappling hook, and then there was the pop ins. All of that not actually on the system. I don't really know what they were thinking.

By the end, you're supposed to realize that killing Joel left Abby empty more than ever and you see Ellie walking into that same path but choosing otherwise. Both wanted to fill that void created by the death of their father figure, violently make their peace by avenging them. I think that if like Ellie, you kind of like Abby too by default, they're so similar.
The stalkers of the second are already wiser but I don't see the infected getting intelligent, they'll that to Days Gone. I think it will still be an Ellie centered story, but probably 20 years in the future, with a darker world but the brightest ending.
To me the first was all love, second was small hate at time but big love overall, I think it's more brilliant and complex than the first, in its themes and execution.
I'm fairly sure a similar article was created about God of War and the PS4 and we ended up having an easily top 5 title of this gen. So no, I trust Sony's studios. Whether it's Chloe current time, Nate's daughter in a near future, Nate back when he worked with Chloe, Charlie as some kind of Uncharted Chronicles where Nate tells his daughter some stories that we also don't know, I'm down with it.
The only thing I hate about the game is the pacing, the rest is fair game and actually pretty grand.
They included a fair amount of subjects, revenge, religion, betrayal and loyalty, gender identity, sexual orientation, war, etc..and all of this mixed with the post apocalyptic setting and how even the dying humankind doesn't even change the current views on those issues.
There's a difference between launching it 6 years into the gen vs day 1.
Sure dude, and the presenters were CGI and the Earth is flat. It's an option and the first real test as to if people want this or not. Xbox One S did it way too late in the gen but by doing it from the get go, the industry will have a better idea. Steam is all digital and all I can hear is good things about it.
It's not because it is really about android that the core can't an analogy for racism or sexism. Just like the first X-Men trilogy was about mutants but with a strong analogy for homophobia. I can't actually remember how we would open a map in the PS3 era, and don't know what X1 is using. I played a recent game that was using it for like like crafting swip left, map swipe right and so on, or something like that which was cool. Much like the speaker, it's mostly underused, but I wouldn't say we're stuck with it with the PS5, it's just freedom and possibility available for devs to use.
You do know this was the GDC conference, why would you talk about other stuff than the PS5 itself and the last gen they'll have to support through the legacy mode with maybe patch adjustments. For all we know there's a PS3/PS2/PS1 legacy mode in the work. No conference has been for the gamers really so far.
I don't think it's anti-consumer, it's a reward for the users making the jump, sort of a guarantee that they won't be getting a subversion of what their new new rig is capable of. I had a PS4 and then a PS4 and the difference wasn't crazy between the two for the same game and obviously it's difficult for a developer to not go the way of running it on the base console and then port it to the more powerful console with a mode/switch vs developing two different builds. The concept was cool and I was looking forward to the rest of the story, but the loading is bad, like this was one of the first time this gen I really felt that way and the background visuals were awful. The whole thing felt beta af.
