You might be right but I still think he's dead. All these footprints, grass, gun things is to me what would happen if Joel was still there, he would be the calm guy who asks Ellie if she really wants to do this. We and Ellie see these things because the presence of Joel is still needed to us.
I also think this won't be a plot twist, it will be hinted again and will only be a matter of when in part II it happens.
I really enjoyed the game but they went all Disney with the main characters. It would have made it a better story with let's say Sully dying. I don't think will have that issue with TLoU, and I still think Joel is offed by a Fireflies raid within the first 10 minutes.
New Colossus has been hinted, and so was TLoU sequel or prequel.
I'd go for a 1886 sequel or 3D Dot Game Heroes 2.
It will have 3rd party support at first but what about 3 years from its launch when the PS5 and X2 will launch.
I bought Second Son like 3-4 months before I bought my PS4 and I wasn't disappointed. The visuals were great, the main character is cool though not even near Cole. The Seattle setting was awesome. First light was also really great. I wish they would find a way to tie in Cole, Fetch and Delsin in one new surely fantastic game.
You're right, with the price drop, the money is probably more than ever in games sold and X1 will never compete there. 3/4 months in a row (only in the NA) with a couple of thousands more than PS4 won't make a dent in that monstrous head start anyways.
Not the best time to release another FPS and the exclusivity factor might also have worked against it, one side is losing an exclusivity and the other side is getting a sequel to a game they were not able to play. But even then, good sales still for a relatively new IP.
I wasn't expecting much of it though I am a PS4 gamer, but I just tried at a friend's house and this thing is immersive AF. If they get 3rd parties support and cool indies like Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin, it could be huge.
Look at what happened with Arkham Knight, way too much effort and then pc gamers still whine and bash the game. It's not like it's a single platform, it's a bunch of platforms / settings, and even if it works perfectly they'll still say that it's not optimized for their oh so powerful gaming system. And as I say this, I'm not saying pc gamers are crappy customers, just highly demanding ones and that makes some publishers question whether they want to deal with it or no...
I think it's all about it being the cheapest 4K blu-ray player and the X1 slim being more than just a new model, it really adds features, slight added power and 4K. But if they're only getting 4K player only users, that wouldn't be a win because these guys don't buy games and that's where the money is. In the end, less than 50K more three months in a row in the US isn't a big win, they're still 20M behind..
For the studio it's good because they get some money upfront and the exclusivity might make the game sells more on the chosen console. The con is you're losing sales on the other console for like a year and after that year they might not be that interested in the game. The 22 vs 43 million is also a factor on what will be that first timed exclusivity.
But it's really a gamble because with the example of the RoTTR, it did not sell well on X1, PS4 got U4 in betwee...
The Bioshock tie-in kind of killed this game somehow. Not underwater, flashy colors, no iconic big daddies, I wouldn't call atmospheric horror, etc... So many things were different. That being said, the game is awesome and by far the most beautiful Bioshock game. They should have named it Infinite : A Bioshock Story ;)
But seriously, I don't know how they could have played it better, it's not like it was tagged Bioshock 3, then I would fully understand the hate,...

They should start by not taking any money from youtubers who feature their games, get as many eyes on their games as they can. The price must be right this time, PS4/X1 are 299, so below that if the specs(cpu/memory/hd) are lower than theirs, same if it's similar and so on, and that special controller excuse is bs, the controller is extremely secondary, not the main focus. I wish they would pass the franchise to an upcoming studio that would concentrate on a MP Killzone game. I really miss the days of KZ2. Make it bigger, grittier and faster.
