I remember someone on Kotaku during a debate as to whether Demon's Souls should be game of the year, stated something similar. Might even be the same Mr Flintoff.
Whilst everyone gets something different from games, maybe this bloake might be better off purely renting?
If I get stuck on a game, or want to play something else, i'll pop it back into my collection and pull out another game - in the same way as I have a number of different books on the go...
Line I giggled at the most ..
"Bl**dy perverts! F*nny is a perfectly respectable name!"
:D
Try the demo on XboxLive.
Absolutely fantastic stuff. :)
I hadn't heard of this game until the Classic Game Room packaging review a few days ago.
I downloaded the demo on XBoxLive and it's outstanding. Beautiful world, flawless framerate and some very monty python-esque humour here and there.
As I understand it, the game has been considerably remastered since the original, much critisised release - and I can see that a lot of the issues seen in the original CGR review have been addressed.

I think when you see the developers having this much fun within the details, it bodes extremely well for the finished product. ^-^
I'd love it if Sony honoured Resistance 3 with the same kind of really ace special edition that which is coming for Infamous 2.
Peter then told journalists he's invented a cereal made of space kittens that could cure cancer, that he once had a locket that could completely electrocute the left side of your body' and that he can read the minds of elephants. :D
I really need to get back to the original.
I played it, but didn't massively click with it first time around - although it wouldn't be the first time that a game that, for whatever reason - doesn't speak to me at first, becomes something I adore at a later point.
The sequel looks really rather fabulous.
Think I might have to fire the first game back up at some point today.
I like the decision to go for style, art and mood over realism. The game looks fantastic and I can see myself getting utterly immersed in the setting.
Resistance: Fall Of Man I adored to pieces. Setting an alien invasion in England - and the sheer amount of research as to where the hordes could thrive was fantastic. In the tunnels under Nottingham, Cheddar Gorge et al .. and i'll never look at Manchester Cathedral in quite the same way again.
The final le...
I couldn't give a chuff about multiplayer. Give me an engaging single player campaign and a great story.
The only game to which I can say i've enjoyed the online component is Demon's Souls, which did something genuinely involving, inventive and new.
Whilst I understand the masses adore their CoD and it's endless "pew pew, got you", it's refreshing to hear someone of Levine's caliber go against the 'popular' publishing...
The first game was an absolute classic and it baffles me that the franchise has drifted away from that.
If there is a rebirth after Armagdeddon, the developers could do far worse than remaking the original, or at least using it as a template for the re-imagining.
Tweak the utterly beautiful and brilliant Gamecube remake of the original Resident Evil into HD.
I can't see it taking any more effort than 4/Code Veronica have.
Sensible World Of Soccer is my favourite game of all time.
Whilst the LiveArcade version isn't the best iteration of it, it's superb fun and i'd adore a sequel.
I'm glad Reach didn't feature The Flood.
They were such a surprising factor in the original game, which arced things way off what you thought the game was heading.
From there on in they became somewhat of a staple. You expected them - and in many cases - and i'm looking squarely at you Halo 3 - represented the worst level.
As for having some kind of Flood DLC, i'd be all for it. Use the Reach engine, but tell a story from someone elses point of...
Catherine sounds fantastic. I'll have me a slice of that.
Besides, I always like supporting Atlus. Amazing company.
With the brilliant Game Dev Story nomnomnom-ing through my time and mind in huge swathes, reading an announcement like that just triggers off thoughts of "to develop your own console you must have a member of staff trained to be a hardware engineer" ^-^
If anyone has iphone/ipod or android and likes ace, classic gaming, I'd highly recommend it.
And back on the actual topic at hand .. I'd hope there isn't an Xbox720 on the cards, or any n...
ODST didn't try to be anything like Halo 3. The only thing connecting them was the engine.
Different feel, more about atmosphere, loneliness, one of the best original soundtracks of this gen, the way it told it's storytelling.
If you're run and gun this game probably isn't for you. If you adore atmosphere and the fact that it put a genuinely new twist of lime on an adored franchise - ODST clicked.
The best Halo for me since Combat Evolved.
Milkidilk Evilk.
I can see the ad now, a zombie with a milkstache on it.
And back on topic..
I've never played a Socom game.. are they any good?
When I think of this game I can't help but think of one of the finest episodes of 'Hey Ash, Watcha Playin'.
Now *that* deserved a BAFTA.
^-^
Hoping these come to Blighty .. i'd pony up for one for my 360 and one for the PS3, should they branch out to Sony's console as well
