Short games are ok with me. Everyone loves the Titanfall 2 campaign and it was only about 5 hours. The issue is gameplay, and frustrating controls that did not need to be frustrating. Other than that, the look and feel was fantastic.
We’re already there. Every games-as-service and free-to-play game is a watered down micro-transaction machine.
The chip shortage, supply shortage is really hurting folks who want to buy a current gen console. My heart goes out to y’all.
If you mean Destiny 3, maybe never. The future of Destiny looks like more Destiny 2 with smaller DLC drops and a rotation of legacy content.
Just wondering how Game Pass actually ruled 2021? Not even half of Xbox owners have Game Pass. I know game journalists love to talk about, but has it moved the needle for game sales?
Voice your discontent with your wallet. The price will drop eventually, and then you can buy it for what you feel it is worth.
“dynamic 1080p and 30fps cap are respectably held”
That’s a nice way of saying Halo Infinite runs like dog shit on the Xbox One. Halo 5 was a low point in the series but at least it ran at 60fps.
The $70 price tag is not great. I picked Deathloop on Black Friday (haven’t played it yet). The other exclusives will have to wait. Black Friday will be amazing next year.
Every public vote is a big popularity contest. The real story here is how much hype Microsoft has built up for Halo.
Not peaked but much slower growth. It’s because if you want to play games online, GamePass is $15 per month. At that price, shit gets real. During the early days of Game Pass, Microsoft had a lot of promotions to bring in new subscribers. The early days are over.
Phil Spencer says a lot of things. Microsoft’s strategy is open for all to see. Not just games-as-service for free-to-play titles but for all games.
Microsoft published only one game in the last 12 months that people care about, and it comes out tomorrow. Just sayin’.
“Internet age of gaming”
Internet has been around since the mid 90s. Incomplete games on release has also been around since the 90s. What’s different now is the scale of the companies that are releasing incomplete games. Microsoft spent $7.5B for Bethesda but can’t spare the resources to add mission selection, co-op, and forge at launch.
Are PS5 and Xbox in competition with the Switch? Do you know anyone who chose a Switch as their only home console?
Yeah but I don’t want to have to run while Iron Man and Thor are flying. Also, Spider-man can hover while aiming his webs just like in Insomniac’s game, even though you can’t slow down time in a multiplayer game. All in all, not the worst copy of Insomniac’s work.
Playing as Spider-man in the Avengers game and he plays a lot like the Spider-man PS4 game. Spider-sense dodging, point launches, yanking enemies with webs, etc. Super fun to play.
And then loading it with microtansactions.
No offense to Engadget but I want a Halo game to a Halo game for 100% of the Halo game. Otherwise I would play any other game.
“Exceeds expectations” doesn’t mean anything if we don’t know the expectations.
Agree 100%. The new save point means a lot for players like me. I know there is a market for games as a grueling trial of attrition to earn manhood or whatever, but many of us play games for something fun to do during our limited free time.
