The PS4 Pro adjusted for inflation would be $525 today. So $700 is asking a lot for a console that might only have a 3 year lifespan before the PS6 drops. The hardware is great. Love it. But no reasonable person would pay this price.
Do you guys not have phones?
Rather than call for the firing of any of Ubisoft’s 20,000 workers, I would like to see Ubisoft make better games. At this point, Ubisoft has become synonymous with generic and boring open world games. The use same formula again and again, with each iteration less interesting than the last. Take some risk. Make something I’ll buy.
Halo 5 is the only Halo game that is not worth playing.
This is the way.
“If a game gets ultra high review scores, but only 50,000 people play it, it's hardly relevant.”
Isn’t this the point of a game of the year award? So many movies went onto larger audiences after winning an Oscar. Game journalism is too beholden to the games industry.
Bungie could have made the best decisions and players would still get tired of Destiny and leave the game. Activision at least gives players a new Call of Diuty every year. Destiny now is just more Destiny.
“fire every single activist developer at firewalk studios”
And then explain to the EEOC why you only fired women and minorities.
“ then relaunch with a wokefree, appealing, reborn marketing campaign”
What does “wokefree” mean? Would you market this game at Klan meetings? Would you run ads on Pornhub?
Definitely some of the characters failed more than others. I am leary of characters who wear a lot random things, like Poochie from “The Simpsons”. I think of that one character with the red overcoat with tails and the hair extending sideways. I’m pretty sure they also added sunglasses, because why not. These all feel like things that could be fixed with different cosmetic options that I’m sure were already in the works. If there is a way to save 150 jobs, I hope they find it.
Destiny 2 is not at a new low according to Destiny Tracker and its daily count of all players on all platforms. The population during Curse of Osiris bottomed out at about 250,000 daily PvE. This was during the dark time of double primaries and 4v4 multiplayer. The current daily population is still above 350,000.
“Having played about 30 minutes of Civilization VII behind closed doors”
Wow, 30 whole minutes. Well, I guess that settles it.
It’s odd to have a first person perspective for an adventure game with stealth and brawling. But’s not without precedent. Wolfenstein: New Order and Wolfenstein: New Colossus had a lot of adventure game elements. They were in the league of the greatest games ever, but they were both fun games. Indy looks fun too.
user name checks out
I didn’t know that year 40k space marines are incels. 🤷♂️
“Guardians of the Galaxy” is a great game and also a good reminder that despite protestations against more games as a service games, the market does not reward great single player games.
What a strange, short list. There have been many more games that arrived DOA, were never released, didn’t make their budget back, etc. Why cherry pick these games? Is this list based on the size of internet hate boners?
“going for the 'woke' look”
What does this mean? What is not going for the ‘woke’ look? Swastikas and whit hoods for sure, but what else?
These games are all appropriately rated. I see a high potential for bailing on these games before getting to the end.
“keep making”
One bad game and Sony is somehow a stumble bum. PS5 is an huge success. PS Portal was a huge success. Astrobot is looking like it will be huge success. Amazingly, all of Sony’s single player games are some of the best games ever. It has not been a bumpy ride.
Sony could include AMD’s latest workstation CPU and $700 would still be too much for a console.
