When was the last time you bought a game on disc for PC? The move to digital only games happened a long time ago.

All we’ve seen are parts lists that don’t include all the parts, like the $70 controller that comes with PS5. And to get around the OS costs, they either load Linux which won’t work with all games or Windows 11 without an activation key. No one has built not offered for sale a $700 PC that has all the function and performance shown for the PS5 Pro.

“hardly an expensive hobby when you compare to some others”

But console gaming is an even less expensive hobby compared to PC gaming, and always will be.

I’ll simply it. If a lot of people can spend $2000 on a gaming PC, even more people can spend $700 on a PS5 Pro.

I like all the caveats.

One of the
fastest selling
original platformers
in the last decade.

Folks, if you really want more single player games and freer games-as-a-service games, you have to actually buy the single player games.

Microsoft doesn’t want its subscribers to spend less than $20/month. Classic marketing. Make one good expensive option that customers really want and a lot of less expense options they don’t. (This is how Canle TV works.) But never forget the customer always has the option of opting out completely.

The full story is not at infinitstart.com but instead on Laura Fryer’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/wat...
Fryer doesn’t claim inside knowledge on “Concord”, only hearing about the estimates of budget and sales that have been passed on around on the interest. Fryer sees the problems with “Concord” based on experience with other failed games like the failed MMO “Vanguard” that I never heard of. Also,...

Another bullshit parts list. You can’t play games with a parts list. Build the machine or it didn’t happen. Other issues: “(TFLOPS unknown)“ for the PS5, making this all speculative bullshit; the PC build list doesn’t include things you’ll need to play PS5 games like a DualSense controller or things you’ll need to set up your PC like mouse, keyboard, and operating system. 🤦🏻‍♂️

You are 100% wrong. Injustice > Mortal Kombat.

Are you disappointed if a game doesn’t let you play as a literal Nazi?

It’s kind of weird that the chief advantage of Game Pass is day one games, and now the standard tier doesn’t have day one games. If you want to play games that have already been released, you can subscribe to PS+ Extra at a lower cost than Game Pass Standard. (And you’ll get day one releases on PS+ like “The Plucky Squire”). It is then insult to injury for Microsoft to then pull year old games from Game Pass Standard. If Xbox was my main console, I would drop all of Game Pass, spend my money...

Momma’s, don’t let you babies grow up to be game developers.

So the game has a woman in it? They must be infecting my town too. I swear about half the people here are women.

A handheld Xbox would compete with Steam Deck and devices like Asus ROG Ally. I don’t think folks are going to want to tie themselves to the Xbox ecosystem when they can get PC Game Pass for less, get free games from Epic, and play their Steam library. Parents aren’t going to get each kid a handheld Xbox. None of Microsoft’s studios are known for making family friendly games.

That’s a list of console failures. PS3 took off when Sony released the PS3 Slim for $300. That was the cost of a blu-ray player at time. But Sony doesn’t need PS5 Pro to take over the makers. All Sony wants are fat margins from price insensitive early adopters. Sony still has the PS5 for gaining marketshare.

Adjusted for inflation, I bought a PS5 digital for $486. That makes the $700 PS5 Pro 1.44X the cost of my PS5 digital. Just because I’m not buying a mid cycle console, doesn’t mean I don’t understand simple math.

“will bleed money”

PS5 has been out for almost 4 years. Who is bleeding money on games released on PlayStation?

Keep this in mind the next time this forum is overrun with people decrying Sony’s investment in games as a service. If ya’ll want single player games, you have to buy them.

“I wouldn't trust them on PS5 Pro.”

Sony has only been making electronics for your entire life. Not enough track record to say whether you can trust them on the PS5 Pro. 🙄
