@ Nitrowolf2 I haven't changed weapons with the number keys for years. The mouse has a lil device on it called the scroll wheel which works excellently for switching between weapons, you might want to try it sometime.

Dear god can't you guys take the "console war" rubbish elsewhere, at the very least leave the PC out of this rubbish. It was inevitable that the PC would sooner or later support blu-ray drives. Just like it has ended up with nearly every other data format in it's history. This is not about "ha ha who said blu-ray wasn't needed". I believe valve will be bringing these updates to the 360 at least later on. You have to understand they can release these updates periodically on the PC because they CONTROL the distribution system. With the 360 there is an intensive certification process everything has to go through before it gets to 360 users. So it does not make commercial sense to do these "bite sized" updates that the PC gets.

Well that is the thing about PC gaming you can tailor it to your own personal needs. If you have the money you can go out and spend a small fortune on a PC that will play everything at 2560 x 1600. If you have more modest tastes for around £500 you can build a PC that runs the game at 1680 x 1050. With a console you get 720p and that is it.

Nope that is fair enough, piracy is not the reason why the price is five bucks more. I can accept that, nothing wrong with that. I see Carmack is opening his gob again. Might I suggest he shuts up and gets on with producing something worth playing. The last ID game I bought was Doom 3 and felt that was a pretty poor excuse for a game (great tech demo though). So he needs to do less talking and more working.
You can tell PC websites are chomping at the bit for some more information on the PC version. A couple of those screenshots are actually fake and some are just artwork lol. I am sure in the fullness of time Rockstar will unveal the premier edition to us. I personally can't wait.
Some nice idea's there but I get the impression the PC version will be just the same as the console version except with better graphics and framerates.
I don't think Rockstar would want to rock the boat too much and give PC users too good a version. I certainly couldn't see console owners being too happy if the PC version got a custom radio station or a mp3 player enabled phone in the game.

not strictly true there are various games that have allowed crossplay. The most recent example was shadowrun which enabled crossplay between PC's and 360's. However it is difficult to implement because of the two very different control structures.
The fact the PC uses a mouse and keyboard is also one of the reasons why Sony's "The Agency" will not have crossplay between PC's and PS3's. It is difficult to implement in away as to not give either side an advantage.
I really cannot see them implementing crossplay between the PC and 360. It would be an unmitigated slaughter of 360 users. The only way they could do it is if they gimped the PC control system which would put most PC gamers off doing cross play then anyway.
There have been a fair few windows live games that didn't do crossplay so just because GTA 4 is windows live does not mean it will have crossplay. Besides who cares the PC is getting GTA 4 damn I can't wait.

There is a reason for the PC version being cheaper. When you buy the PC version of the game there are no royalties to MS. I believe every xbox 360 game you buy at least $10 goes straight to Microsoft even if they had nothing to do with the game. Naturally there is none of that rubbish on the PC.
