Most PC gamers voted with their wallets and didn't buy the game. That says something about the game I think. It doesn't particularly affect me anyway I have an xbox 360, bought it to play GTA 4. If I so desired I could blow off the layers of dust on the thing and play Gears 2 on it if I wanted.
I get the feeling I will be leaving the Xbox and it's layers of dust alone when Gears 2 comes out, it is such a shallow dull repetitive game I can't understand how anybody can enjoy it....
I don't think many PC gamers are going to be losing any sleep over this. I thought the first one was a pile of crap and I can't say I was chomping at the bit for the second one.
However I wish Epic would just come out and say they are no longer interested in the PC format. After all most PC gamers have already said they are no longer interested in Epic's games.
There is also the matter of Epic being on this pathetic PCGA Alliance, it is nothing but a joke they are ...
You hear that pin drop ? That is the sound of millions of PC gamers not really caring.
I never knew it was thanks to lucasarts that the PC never got the first Mercs game. Hm thanks a bunch Lucasarts, it seems they have had the knife out for the PC for a while now. Still I have to say I am looking forward to Mercs2 on the PC looks like it will be a lot of fun.
What is even more incredible is we have EA to thank for the PC version, I am rapidly changing my opinion on EA they seem to be reforming their ways.
You beat me too it bumnut. I bought a 360 to play GTA 4 when it came out. The 360 is now in the shed and I am eagerly awaiting the PC version. I dunno how people can game at such a pathetically low resolution and low framerate.
But they have to convince themselves some way that there console is "worth the money". I personally think it is envy from console gamers, this is why they leap on stories like this to proclaim PC gaming is dead. It is a "well if I can't...
Wow not that you are bitter or anything. I dunno did the PC community murder your dog or something ? I always find it funny how these "PC dying" stories keep getting hyped up by the console community, funny that isn't it.
It seems to me the only people that seem to think the PC has any chance of dying is the console community. The PC isn't the one costing Microsoft billions of dollars, the PC isn't the one wiping out all of the profit Sony made in the PS2 era. If I w...
It is a scientific FACT that games cannot give you Epilepsy. If you think that you really need to go back to school. The only danger from games in terms of epilepsy is if the person already HAS epilepsy. A game can only trigger an epileptic seizure if a person already has the condition.
I take it you missed the part where Rockstar approached Sony FIRST but Sony weren't interested and Sony are infact on record as saying "the GTA franchise isn't important to them". If you want to blame anyone for what happened with your "beloved" console then blame Sony they are the ones that didn't want to know.
I take it you didn't take into account that when SA came out there were well over 100 million console users with a console that could run GTA SA ?
This time round there are barely half the number of users COMBINED that have a console capable of running GTA 4. I personally think the numbers are fairly decent for the customer base that exists. Not everyone is going to spend $300 - $400 to play GTA 4
I can't say I was all that pleased with GTA 4 myself (and I was one ...
You will never see keyboard and mouse supported as standard on the consoles I am afraid, it causes too many problems for those that use a joypad which is the standard control system of a console.
To be honest this is a bit of a cop out by Blizzard. There is no reason why they cannot do an MMO with the console market in mind. I personally don't like consoles myself but I hate and detest this "can't be done" mentality companies like Blizzard and Konami keep spouting. <...
@ pwnsauce a game cannot "give" someone epileptic seizures. It doesn't matter if they glue their head to the monitor and stare at it. A person can suffer an epileptic seizure from a game ONLY if they have epilepsy in the first place.
If they already have epilepsy then it will not matter if they sit with their nose to the monitor or view the picture via a telescope from three miles away.
As for burnout paradise, meh don't really care it's a console racer...
Hm not a good date to release a game on the PC to be honest. A day later PC gamers are getting GTA 4, whilst I do like Half life 2 and most of valve's stuff I am afraid for me it will be Rockstar getting my cash that week/month. Ho well I can always pick it up later on.
I totally forgot about Stalker - clear sky, yep that is a definate buy and it is a pity it wasn't included in this list.
Not a bad line up, I am not sure about Project Origin. I have heard that has been delayed. I can't remember how long the delay was but I guess it will miss a fall release.
I counted at least 3 games I am definately getting, GTA4, Crysis Warhead, Red Alert 3. I might also be interested in Spore, Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead and Farcry 2. But I am still undecided about them
Either way not a bad line for a platform that is supposedly "dead".
I remember saying this when the pyro update came out and 360 users were complaining. I said then "the 360 will probably get a massive update with all these things". I lost count of how many disagrees I got rofl.
I wonder how the game would be like if it was PC exclusive, gameplay/graphics wise not sales wise.
You wait ages for some info on the PC version then get 10 repeat previews all at once. I ended up buying a 360 just to play GTA 4 because I had doubts it would come to the PC (hindsight is a wonderful thing). I wasn't too impressed with the 360 version, GTA 4 is a good game but not necessarily a great GTA.
Having said all that I am definately getting the PC version, I want to explore the MP more than I could with the console version and I want to show support for my favoured fo...
Ok I am a bit confused perhaps you could elaborate. How exactly did Home "own" Second Life ? I mean bearing in mind Home isn't available for 99.99999% of the planet yet.
It is pretty clear what is happening, people go through fads. That is all there is to it. Second Life was a fad and people got bored of it and moved on. As the article suggest the same thing will happen one day with WOW and something else will replace it.
Personally I tried it for 10 mi...
Well as a long time PC gamer I can say "thanks but no thanks"
Microsoft is already on record as saying "they hold games off the PC for as long as possible to boost X360 sales". They know if you give people the choice between playing the game on the PC or a 360 people will choose the PC everytime. So no it isn't in MS's interest to pay Epic lots of money to put Gears on the PC. It is actually in MS's interest to pay Epic lots of money to keep it OFF the PC as long as posssible.
