At the end of the day if the UK was swimming in tax payers money I would say "hell yeah tax breaks for all". However we aren't we are close to £700 billion in the hole. No it isn't an ill thought out view this country is MASSIVELY in debt and encouraging a "luxury" item with tax breaks is pretty obscene in my view. I would much rather see my tax being used to fund a new hospital that may save my life or more police officers that keep the streets safe or better education that WILL improve the standard of living in this country.

Erm no I don't think private companies should be getting tax breaks. The poor tax payer is already subsidising the entire banking industry and I fail to see why they should have to foot the bill for games companies as well.
If UK developers cannot find a way to run a company in the tax system we have then tough. I personally don't care whether my games are made in Canada, Europe, Asia or Timbuktoo as long as the games are made that is the important thing.
I would say it is more down to "what is the point" in buying a HDTV ? Nearly all broadcasts are still standard definition so 90% of the time the HD TV will be behaving like an SD TV.

This DLC rubbish is getting out of hand. The pirates have access to all the special DLC that was released but the paying customer that bought the CE or DDE version are missing out because they didn't buy it from Gamestop.

God you have to laugh at some of the serious comments on here, jeez lighten up for god sake. So you watched a 3 minute video and you feel you wasted those 3 minutes !!! Some would argue playing video games is a waste but that doesn't stop you pouring hours into a game.
I thought the video was quite funny myself and made me chuckle.
I wasn't impressed with it, I was able to get into the open beta and my god what a dull game. I gave it a good couple of hours but it just felt like a chore to play. The ship combat is basic at best and the planet control sucks. I really cannot see this MMO surviving, I wouldn't play this game for free never mind pay to play it.
This is certainly an interesting idea it is great to see something like this being done. However it is let down a little bit with Bioware's character creator. I love ME 2 it is a fantastic game but they could have boosted the number of hairstyles and other facial features. Hopefully with ME 3 they might go to town on the character creator. I would love to see APB's character creator being used in ME 3, but we can dream.
Oh for gods sake, why is it every single game that comes out MUST have a multiplayer component ? The Mass Effect series is a shining beacon of how a single player game should be. If they added a multiplayer component to it, all that would do is take resources away from the SP campaign.

I would say this is a pretty fair review and score. The points the reviewer raised had merit.
Firstly if you discount recruiting your crew (which some would argue is a side quest) there are only 5 missions involving the main story. @ thehitman - if Starcraft 2 did come to the PS3 it would cost more. The reason PC games are cheaper is down to License fees. There is no license fee on the PC so the game can be cheaper. If Blizzard released Starcraft 2 on the PS3 they would have to pay Sony between $10 - $15 for every copy sold. That is the primary reason why games are cheaper on the PC.

Hm I get the feeling this won't be good news for PC gamers. If they are wanting to hurry Mass Effect 3 out then something is going to give and that something will be the PC version. So I am not optimistic about a simultaneous launch for the PC version of Mass Effect 3.

I am the one that disagreed with you and I will tell you why. As a PC gamer I don't take too kindly to being treated like scum by Rockstar. If PC/PS3 owners buy this DLC in large numbers then you are just given Rockstar the OK to do this again in the future.
If PC/PS3 gamers turn their nose up at this DLC then hopefully it will convince Rockstar to put a bit of effort into the actual game rather than release a half baked main game and bulk it up with exclusive DLC.

The gap isn't "smaller" there is still a massive gap the problem is developers are not making use of it at the moment. Mass Effect 2 runs at 1680 x 1050 and a solid 60fps + Now that is TWICE the frame rate of the 360 and at a considerably higher resolution. Now want to guess how much processing power Mass Effect 2 is using on my quad when it runs at 60fps ? When I run ME 2 on my PC at 1680 x 1050 @ 60fps my processor is barely using 50% of it's power.
