The appeal of these things will depend on the price/power balance. If (and this is a big 'if') Steam Machines are priced roughly the same as what you'd pay to build your own PC with equivalent specs, then why not opt for a Steam Machine and add Windows? You'd avoid the hassle of building, and get a machine more power than consoles that also has a sexy living room friendly form factor and an interesting controller.

There's no need. Mikami IS making a survival horror game that looks like how a true Resident Evil game should. It even has the word 'Evil' in the title. Just play that when it comes out and be happy that it exists. Forget about 'Resident Evil', it's just a name!
I remember seeing Street Fighter 2 Turbo on the shelves for AU$120 and thinking I would simply never get to own it.
Supposedly, the best way to play RE4 is to run the Wii Edition on the Dolphin emulator with a good PC, then apply the HD texture mod.
The original PC version was based on the inferior PS2 version (less polygons, worse lighting etc)
I hope this new HD PC edition is based on the Gamecube graphics and not PS2. For all the releases this game has had, none have truly done it justice in all areas.

Galaxy was different from 64/Sunshine because it had focused, linear levels with more emphasis on actual platforming (Galaxy 2 even ditched the hub world).
SM3DW continues this trend, and has more in common with its NES/SNES ancestors than the first 3D games ever had.
That said, I'd still like to see another game like SM64.
I agree with this too. The Rogue Squadron games are unique in their gameplay, there aren't many games out there like them that are good.
Furthermore, the games currently cannot be properly played on an emulator. It would be a shame for these games to fade away, forgotten.
Finally, the games looked freaking stunning for their time, and would look great in HD.
The Rogue Squadron games were God-Tier. I agree Disney should try getting some of those Factor 5 developers on board for this.
I played Twilight Princess right after finishing Skyward Sword. I liked it but can't understand how so many people prefer it to Skyward.
What is going on with that Yoshi game?! It was shown before we even knew about Mario 3D World. Now 3D World is released, and nothing else about the Yoshi game has been shown since that trailer!
