PSNow could quite easily be used as BC , the disc could be used as a key to unlock the content , just like it does currently on the console.Sony has the software to do it. The truth is Sony don't want to do that , they need to recoup the cost of buying Gaikai , and want to start to seed the mind set of subscription based gaming for future consoles. The next Playstation will be a streaming service.
Hope Activision release the early cods for backwards compatibility on xb1.

Clearly MS has access to numbers in relation to logging in on what console and they can see the 360 is still being used at a massive level. If you can draw those users over to a new console , its a win. But it will need the titles , like CoD , BF etc to really get people to move. If they lead with all the CoDs would work including zombie DLC , it would have been a home run for the masses.
I think connect rates is more important than base consoles sold. If the average user spends more on one console than another . Thats pretty important to a publisher.
Sony say its not needed or wanted. But they built a eco system around paying for the service. ???

In my opinion MS won for 2015 , so many fun games shipping in 2015 , Sony will get to re- announce all this stuff next year as most of it won't ship till mid to late 2016.
Glad it finally happened , still i think it will not ship 2016 more like 2017. Seems like this was a manufactured release for E3 just so sony had a" mic drop moment".

Sony used it to fill a space in the release line up. There will some strategic placement behind the " delay" just like they did with Second son. They are a business.
Sony need a game for later in the year ,so they are doing a Destiny , and will market it as an exclusive . Maybe MS didn't see it as much of a ROI as Call of duty is not held in such high esteem by gamers anymore . Besides , i would say for the ashes of the Cod championships , will rise a similar if not better Champ series with Halo.
Xb1 will do the same , 1 Tb will be standard.
