It can be difficult to counter the belligerent opinions of fanboys without sounding like a fanboy yourself, the author should learn this lesson well.
While he's technically correct it could have been written without the obvious bitterness and, sooner or later, you just know certain people are only going to point out that most of these are practically vaporware or XBLA games or something along those lines. The thing is that, if Gaikai can stream full games through a browser or app then Surface will probably be able to play Playstation games. Microsoft may become unwilling hosts for their competitors gaming service, along with Android and maybe iOS.

Both services have their strengths and weaknesses but as PSN evolves into something spectacular I find myself wondering how Microsoft are going to justify a cost for their service next gen. Honestly, at first glance it sounds like pure garbage and the Xbox fan in me hopes it isn't true. However, with Windows 8 sales uncertain, their tablet not doing as well as expected and phones not cutting enough into Apple and Google's pie (Apple pie, get it, derp), they may have to double back down on making sure Windows keeps its monopoly at the cost of other investments.
The fact that Xbox fans are trying so hard to make this out as a positive thing for MS is evidence enough of how much it actually bothers them. PS3 has now sold more than Xbox in terms of sales PS3 'Wins' there's simply no denying that fact for now. But really who cares?
Announcing MS as victor because they sold more than they did last gen is equally asinine, for the reasons already stated in the comments above.

Seriously though, if you want to play current gen games come next gen then just don't sell your current gen system.

The fact is, the PS3 is now in 2nd place and gaining on Wii, which leaves the 360 in 3rd place meaning both consoles MS have made have ended up last. Although it's not over until the fat lady sings.

I agree, although I would still include games in an 'upcoming' list if they had a bunch of gameplay videos to prove that they are nearing completion but no solid release date yet.
