We already know that PS4 will allow self-publishing

No word on 720 yet though, doesn't even mention it in the articles source so I dunno where they got this rumour from?
One of the main differences mentioned in the video is basically that Tomb Raider has a 'grittier' story. While this is very true I found that the bigger difference while playing was down to animation and the way the games flow. This is where, imo, Uncharted outshines Tomb Raider in every respect, with Naughty Dogs high quality motion capture adding much greater believably to characters and movement. To be fair though, Tomb Raider is so well done that it's very easy to give it a ...
Thanks PirateThom & grassyknol, I think I'll leave it until we get a solid price.
Anyone have a clue about where the London launch will be?
Hello anyone who has pre ordered in the UK at GAME, could you please tell me if the deposit is refundable if you find it cheaper elsewhere? Thanks.
Also I emailed GAME about where their main launch in London would be, since their flagship store closed but they didn't have an answer, does anyone have a clue?
Ha, I love this, it should be an ad for PS4's streaming ability. Get Sony on the phone PlaystationLifestyle.com.
I never understood the paranoia surrounding privacy on PS4, they even addressed it at the announcement, stating that your PSN name and online anonymity will remain in tact if you so choose.
I also don't understand the resistance to 'social features' coming from the core gamers. I'd say quicker sharing of awesome moments, score 'bragging', challenge setting, party finding, remote control and generally greater communication would be conducive to the core...
That's fairly ambitious, can they even manufacture that many in time? If so, what's stopping them from releasing world wide at the end of the year?
It would be so good on Vita :D
Minecraft released on the 9th May 2012 on 360, which means if MS paid for a years exclusivity we could potentially see it on Playstation this summer.
The thing about revealing a next gen console first is that you have to go up against peoples unrealistic expectation of what they think next gen should be.
Whatever expectations you have it's still too early to say one way or another if the difference in the games is enough to justify new hardware. Especially since we cannot compare it to anything releasing on the next Xbox as we have no details yet.
Anyway, jumping in with an opinion now is like hitting...
As far as I'm concerned all we need is a few more games, a look at the system itself and a decent price.
Some in depth info on the UI and some of the finer details of the features and network wouldn't hurt either.
You gotta give props to MS for going toe to toe with Playstation at the beginning of this gen. Whatever focus they may or may not have shifted to now, they built up a decent core fanbase with their early strategy.
Whether or not they have the balls to do it again, with no year head start, is yet to be seen.
100% of the people who are me will be daft enough to wait hours in line come launch day and throw wads of cash at an unsuspecting student shop assistant until they hand over my shiny new play thing.
What a month, three very awesome games. If I could only have one I'd go with GOW:A though.
I think it will also take a small privacy cue from Facebook in that you will remain anonymous to anyone who isn't on your friends list. So only your friends will see your real name and even then only if you choose to.
Kotaku are just riding the privacy scaremongering train here, I'm going to vote them down... again.
The provider of the video service was never claimed to be exclusive, what a weird thing to try and disprove.
The only exclusive part of PS4's streaming is the Gaikai tech inside every console that encodes the video in the background, if I remember correctly.
It's like saying 'if you can upload your videos to youtube that means youtube isn't a PS4 exclusive' well duh.
"Hirai also agreed to sell a chemical unit and stakes in display-making ventures as he sharpens Sony’s focus on mobile devices, games and digital imaging."
Separating the wheat from the chaff. Great business strategy, one which results in a greater focus on the gaming industry as one of Sony's most profitable ventures.
The 'virus/fungus' in The Last of Us was inspired by a BBC program about the Cordyceps fungus...

Thanks, those are kind of helpful, I just wish there was some form of exact scale we could see.
I'm going to repeat a comment I made yesterday that is relevant here, if you've read it before then apologies but it's a point I'd like to make clear:
"...While some may have thought Sony were just throwing around big words, there was a sense that these words had a real world impact on the development of the console itself.
Immediacy was one of those words and we can see from some of the features of PS4, i.e instant boot/game state savin...
I did chuckle :)

Although that image doesn't really apply here because, you know, Sony exists.
