I'm excited to see if Kinect 2 can actually produce a decent 'core' game. I see the potential in Kinect but it has failed to supply that 'je ne sais quoi' that makes a good core experience, in my humble opinion anyway.

If they can get it working 1:1(ish) with intricate finger tracking and running at a much higher res, I'm in.

I've thought about this a lot and I agree with the writer. While competition can breed excellence it can also choke a market, fracture game development and cause confusion.

If we look back at previous generations, there's always been one console that dominated the market but we never had a lack of quality games or paid DLC or insane DRM.

@Seekdev I agree that devs should be starting with a clean slate when dreaming up Kinect titles but it's looking as though the limitations of the hardware have created an environment where any depth of gameplay must be sacrificed to allow for the simplicity and inaccuracy of input.

I don't see why it can't appeal to shooter fans, you can use the argument that it's better on "big screens with fantastic audio setups" for most kind of games.

I can understand the the writers wish for more Vita specific niche genre games but, like most of the gaming press, they've jumped the gun where Vita is concerned. Four months after release and it's nearly had as many expectations thrown at it as the PS3 did.

Wonderbook is, understandably, taking some flak from the core crowd. However it's hard not to notice the attention it's getting from mainstream media, this could be the PS3 game that finally cracks the casual market for Sony.
