Were you one of those people expecting a super-computer for 400-500 dollars?
They both have enough power to last quite a while. Closed systems have an advantage when it comes to outlasting it's percieved technical limitations (just look at PS3 and X360 with Halo 4, GTA V, TLOU, etc).
stupid article, and not even one based on facts.
The first xbox was a financial failure (probably somehwat by design). They took big losses on every unit sold, and lost their asses financially. It was a way to get their foot in the door. To call it a "success" is pretty stupid though.
Xbox One and XBOX in general is now making money for MS. Why would they sell it off NOW? IF they sold it off, it would be down the road, and is really not likely to ...
It's upsetting a small minority of xbox fans. Probably the same way Early DLC for the Division and COD upsets Sony fans.
Hey, lets make an article out of it! The exclusive PS stuff isnt really a "fair share". Its a few extra beta days and some in game stuff that is ultimately timed exclusive. Vocal minority being loud once again.
Moon Studios is a MS First Party studio, according to some google research. That makes them NOT an Indie developer. Which then makes Ori NOT an Indie game. It is in the same vein as Max: Curse of Brotherhood. MS first party studio, that makes smaller games.
Illusive proved me wrong on a different site when i said the same thing you did. i have to back him here on this one.
psst... your fanboy is showing.
On a serious note: Sunset Overdrive is not overhyped. I dont think it's being hyped at all, honestly. It's their next big exclusive, and they are advertising it. It's nothing like the push that Titanfall got though.
Not to mention that pretty much everyone that's played it or seen it played, says it looks REALLY fun.
Neither console has a "ton" of AAA exclusives this year. X1 has a co...
I know this is just an "opinion" piece, but the opinion expressed here is complete garbage. There have been quite a few (with a TON more coming) good games this year. I'm still trying to figure out how i'm going to pay for them all later this year.
Don't approve this POS article please.
More than you'd probably like to believe. I'm a long-time Xbox fan (read: not fanboy). While i enjoy Halo games, i don't circle the date on my calendar. A lof other 1st party MS and exclusive games have bigger followings than people here seem to want to give them credit for.
Fable and Forza, and Gears come to mind (all are typically well received and sell well).
Forza 5? Not sure what else is LOCKED at 60, honestly.
You dont have to watch them to enjoy the game. They just give you some more back story. If you dont care about all the other backstory details, then don't watch them. Pretty simple really.
Not watching the series will not make Halo 5 unplayable.
Good thing you came to this article, about the XBOX ONE, that you clearly have no intention of purchasing. You not only wasted youre own time in coming here, but also anyone's that happened to start reading your comment.
@SkullBlad169
Thanks. I wasn't aware that the grammar police were enforcing here. I typed this in about 12 seconds and didn't proof-read. Next time I will make sure that it is all grammatically correct, just for you.
They still have to build games with the assumption that a Kinect is plugged in. So... No. This is a system-wide free up of space. We dont even know for sure that it is a kinect reservation decrease. It could be simple optimization of the multiple Operating Systems and how they all use the hardware. Could also be an API update that is just a bit more efficient.
Edit: Of course someone would disagree with this comment right away. After all, everything i said in here was full of...
Good news is good news. Nice to see it come from a reliable source and not some "insider".
Yea. Giving us a feature that makes it easy to install GAMES, doing it faster, and allowing us some flexibility in space for more GAMES.
Clearly that's not what's important. Or are GAMES not the most important thing in reference to a gaming console?
You are remembering incorrectly.
Nintendo makes profit. Sony is about break even, but was taking a loss on each unit sold at launch. MS stated that they actually were making a small profit on each console sold (first time for them at launch).
i believe that is part of the reason that Sony posted a loss in their gaming division this year dispite amazing PS4 sales.
Things change and i would expect all 3 to be turning profit on each unit sold by holiday...
Retarded title. Price drops do have a history of "killing" consoles though. /sarcsm
It's MS's biggest and best selling franchise. Why would they not make anymore right now?
If there is a market for something, no business in their right mind would STOP putting a product out.
Its not a problem. If you never spend another dime on the game other than the purchase price, you are looking at 80+ hours, assuming you like this type of game to begin with.
Hmm.. Someone point me to the article where MS is quoted as saying they want to "kill" netflix? They are trying to create content to bolster their XBL value. No different than Starz or HBO creating original content, or Netflix themselves creating their own shows.
Mediocre Iinfamous sales would point to the conclusion that this doesnt matter. What matters is how many games are sold on a device, not the over-all user base. If games consistently sell at a higher clip on one console, publishers wont care if there arent as many consoles in the wild.
And won't have as much spending money either. after upgrading/rebuilding their computer every year or two. I have a Gaming PC, but when it comes to pure GAMING enjoyment, consoles are the best bang for the buck in the long run.
If you have a different opinion, that's fine. There is more than one side to a subjective argument. The more people that realize this, the less idiots there would be left to fight this ridiculous "console war" on behalf of the billion...
