5870 in crossfire will be insane.
to be honest for the current games coming out even a 150usd gpu like a 4890ati or 275gtx is enough for the rest of the gen, since games are made keeping consoles in consideration.
5870 single is an overkill too.
i have a 5970 in my rig pretty much every game runs at 200fps. crysis warhead runs near 60fps @ 1920*1200 4x AA.
sure emulators have problems. specially for the newer consoles.
though you'd agree wii doesnt have many games for the hardcore. most of wii games are casual, only games ppl here would be interested in would be marios, zeldas & metroit. as long as those get emulated fine its great.
for the older consoles all the way from the nes days to ps2(partiallly for ps2) everything runs suberb on emulation.
well all the multiplats are better on the pc.
pc has execellent exclusives.
all the wii games run better on the PC emulated.
360 doesnt have any good exclusives.
ps3 has just handful of exclusives, out of which id just pick 1-2.
so whats the point of playing on consoles when pc plays 95% of the games better then all the consoles. no point considering a console for 1-2 exclusives then paying a premium on the rest of the...
i buy almost every new game of steam @ 45usd.
steam is great.
personally i find pcs alot more affordable then consoles.
almost everyone has a dual core or quad core cpu computer these days. that is almost required by every one of us, be it for work, surfing the net, socializing etc etc.
with that considered, a gpu will only cost 150-200usd. Cheaper and better then any console. Later on the games are cheaper too.
still far ahead of the console versions :P
theres only so much pc version can improve a console port.
@dreamtheater
agreed.. consoles become more pc like gen after gen.
One of my friends who is a console gamer, in the ps2 gen used to complain that pc gaming has install times. Which was his reasoning for hating pc.
Today when he has a ps3 he needs to be installing pretty much every game, funny insnt it?
@panda
console users will support digital copies, but thats only when sony or microsoft tell them so.
got torch light too.. just cant resist it at 5usd.
steam sales are awesome. i been gaming on steam for about 2years now and already got 60 games on my list.
had i bought those games on consoles i would have ended up paying about 800-1000usd exta. thats enough money to build a mid - hi end rig.
@ above
thats about the most ignorant thing i have heard.
Pc gaming doesnt need constant upgrades, todays games run fine on a 8800gtx (which is 3years old now), so will ME2. Meanwhile it will out perform the xbox till the gen ends.
I have a lan setup in my house. My older rig which i created when the ps3 was released still out does any console. following were the specs:
2.4ghz dual core
8800gtx
2 gig ram
...
360 wont be getting the superior version either.. just about every multiplat is superior on the pc.
id like to see a game based on batman beyond sometime.
good decision not paying for live, its a ripoff.
All the additional ways microsoft has of making money add up in the end.
live, expensive accessories, costly games, charge for dlcs free on pc.
pc version here. pre-order steam would probably have this for 45usd.
Why good job microsoft.
if anything you should be thanking Bioware.
Id never support games for windows.
Knowing microsoft, once their service got popular they'd figure out ways to milk its base.
poor xbox users.
i bought
Witcher
Resident Evil
need for speed shift
so far.
got about 60 steam games now, this is so dam cheap.
cool part about pc gaming, you dont have to worry about compatibility when the next gen comes out. Old games still work ;-)
pc version running on 3yr old hardware aka 8800gtx will still trample the console version, no contest there.
oh noes but pc gaming is sooo expensive
/s
people not gaming on pcs dont have a clue what they are missing out on.
except pc gamers couldnt careless about gaylo or any other milkbox exclusive for that matter.
JRPG's never interested me.
they might be great for some of you.
IMO Japan just hasnt been upto it lately.
