360 is a console after all, just like the ps3. both of them reached their limits with their first round of AAA releases.
there isnt much difference between uncharted 1 and 2, i would take that means ps3 has reached its limits too.
I wouldnt be surprised both of them have 4yr old gpus equipped.
Only platform we can expect to show true gains is the PC, which has evolving hardware and grows with time.
what will the poor retail do once consoles go digital too.

its cool pc users have so many options to chose from.

Pcs a tech leader, it paves the way for the future. If anything 10years from now, consoles will either be cloud based or all games will be download based.
What happens to the PC now is an indication to what will happen the in console market few years from now.
I exclusively game on pc, I have over 70games on steam now. I havent gone to a retail store to buy games in over 2 years now.
the other 2 consoles arent cutting edge anymore.
infact ps3 wasnt cutting edge even at its launch.
as for nintendo, agreed they would have gone the way of the dodo had they gone for the microsoft, sony approach.
I'd say nintendo must be surprised the wii did as well as it did, they probably didnt expect this much. Considering how badly gamecube was going.
nintendo played it smart. they are the only console manufacturer this gen to be in a profit.
With this gen microsoft and sony tried to make consoles more like PCs and look at what happened to them, both are in the red. With the next gen almost upon them, further losses can be expected if they keep going this route.
Imo console manufacturers need to learn from nintendo and take that route to gaming, will be more profitable.

openoffice is a very good alternative to Ms office and its free. i highly recommend ppl use it.
personally i have stopped using office for along time now.
Now if only there was a good alternative to windows, there already is, but for those of us who game on windows there still isnt a real alternative. It would be great to have another option.
back in 2000 i would have agreed with your post.
however things are different now.
its been 4years since the 8800gtx came out.. it still runs games at 1080, something consoles cant do on all games. ps3 does 1080 in less then 10% of its games.
as long as games are being made with consoles in mind, pc wont be needing too many upgrades either. Money saved buying games on pc is generally enough to buy a whole new rig in about 3-4years time.

The article here isnt comparing the ps3 to other consoles here. Ps3 is being compared to the pc. It stands no chance against a half decent PC.
Regarding uncharted you might wanna check your facts. Uncharted runs at low to med res textures @ 720p. If the hardware wasnt limited, i cant see why naughty dog didnt bump the resolutions to 1080p. The RSX within the ps3 is just old.

its got a gtx285 which is a very powerful gpu. Dont think you would have any problem with this obselete game even at 2560*1600 with 4xAA.
Recording with fraps i got no idea on that one.
