hell yea.. thats the point
lets not forget pc gets free dlcs too. l4d was 7usd, thats about what you would be paying for the dlc on the xbox version.
well be it a sony user or a microsoft console user. both end up paying royalties per game. This is enough to make gaming on pcs cheaper then gaming on consoles, while getting a superior version. I dont see why anyone would like to play multiplats on consoles.
left4dead was available on steam discount few days back for 7usd, try beating that price anywhere. Tomb raider underworld currently is on sale 7usd.
PC gaming rocks.
you'd amazed to know 5970 actually runs pretty cool.
its much cooler then my 4870x2. My case temps have fallen by 4-5c since i changed the gpus, this is at idle (this happens because @ idle one of the gpus shuts down saving power). However even while running games my case just stays alot cooler the fan on the 5970 can hardly be heard which tells me the gpu isnt getting much hot otherwise the fan should be blowing like a jet engine.
also yes the 5970 is a dual gpu...
and that is the reason why pretty much any good looking game is always compared to crysis, yet all fall short.
dam all the deluded console fanboys just backing up their favorite system.
neither the ps3 or the 360 do 1080p in most games.
there are about 300games out ont he ps3 now, only about 20 of them do 1080p and even that is not for any game i would call stressful. so thats less the 10% of its game libruary.
both the ps3 or 360 render games at 720p most of the time being below that mark.
5970 on my system.. runs crysis @60fps 1920*1200 4xaa
anyother game pretty much runs near 200fps :P
i got 5970 on my pc now
with the I7 overcloced to 3.5ghz
on crysis everything maxxed out. 4x AA 1920*1200, my system manages 60fps.
what are the specs on your pc?
whats the gpu on it?
its hard to make out with just pictures.
i am sure in the end pc will be the superior version.
even running on a 2 yr old gpu.
Steam probably is the reason valve remain exclusive to the pc.
The pc is like valves platform. Only difference is they dont make losses on the hardware :P
No reason why they should delay fixing stuff they can fix asap.
i dont see any mention of cod in my post.. but since you bring it up, its based on an old engine yet still runs only @ 600p on consoles just like most of the releases these days.
So why isnt uncharted 2 running at 60fps @ even 720p if it was soo well optimised? on larger screens i see so many jaggies on uncharted.
clearly they should have offloaded more tasks to the cell freeing up the RSX :P i wonder why they didnt though.
by the way any 3rd party...
uc2 is still 720 and med res textures.
let me know when they make most of their games in 1080p or beyond.
no point being a fan boy. fact is fact.
most console games 720p or below. if the all might cell was so powerful there would be no reason not to have games in 1080p right? and why not atleast have most games running @ 60fps even in 720.. reason because the hardware isnt strong enough.
out of 300 titles released on the ps3 only abo...
ps3's got a 7800 gtx on it.
thats all what matters pretty much.
its reason why pretty much any game thats a bit cutting edge runs @ 600p on the ps3 or the 360.
lol wake up.. i am not a droid
i am a pc gamer :P
last thing i would like to be doing is a gaming on any console, be it ps3 or xbox 360.
however if it had to be one of them then id easily pick the ps3 over the failbox.
current gen gpus get about 120-150gb/s memory bandwidth from the dedicated memory they got.
Larabee will be sharing the memory bandwidth between a cpu & gpu, I7 with its tripple channel memory only has 25gb/s memory bandwidth now imagine sharing that with a gpu.
IMO for larrabee to be viable memory bandwidth would have to grow 5 folds just to meet the bandwidth on current gpus.
all of us know how important this bandwidth is, i dont care how pow...
i hope you do realise console gaming is far more costly then pc gaming.
asides charges to go online, expensive accessories, high failure rates. The main reason being prices on console games are enough to make consoles expensive vs pc.
g8800 should hold its own in this game.
its still a very good midrange card. i had friend recently convert from console gaming to pc.
he has a 8800gtx in his 2 yr old rig, plays all the current games maxxed out.
@dchalfont
agreed never buy a premade rig, always get it custom built. Thats always cheaper, you get better parts plus upgrade options for the future.
well sure these companies gotta spend.
but read my first post microsoft is being greedy. this can be clearly seen from their busines tactics.
they are trying to make money anyway they can, even if it means being unfair to their loyal fan base.
multiplats already sell very well on the xbox 360, which probably is a reason why they dont like to invest more 1st party studios. they probably use the budget to advertise their products.
i would rather get a 5870 gpu for 300usd.
that is around the power for 5 xbox 360's
imagine all the games running at 60fps 1080 full aa even on a 2-3yr old pc.
imo 400cad is just too much, when i can get the most powerful current gen gpu cheaper then that.
think most of us are hooked on to steam.
