it is an awesome game.
i just finished another playthrough of warhead. it just didnt receive the kind of hype games like mw2 receive.
still doesnt change the fact pc has the best BC ;-) most of the ppl here probably havent even seen a dos game.
the cell is like an ant compared to a true gpu. it can off load only so much. Its more a marketing tool then anything else.
think about it. if the cell was so powerful then they would have gone as per their original design and implemented 2 cells in the ps3 instead of a gpu. It was obvious the cell was no match to a true gpu which is why sony took help from nvidia.
Hence even if you add the cell to the rsx it still doesnt change the overall picture much.
...
it costly buying the same hardware again and again and think of all the space needed to keep so much hardware.
i like some games from the snes, some from the n64, some from wii, ps1, ps2, same goes for the arcade, PC classics.
i just love 1 system PC that does it all.
Mario galaxy runs great on dolphin emulator. This should be fun.
wii only has a handful of games worth playing. No point investing in a console just for a bunch of games.
Dragonage is easily the RPG of the year pc version of course.
The amount of strategy required to play this game specially with the pc version makes any other rpg or game for that matter look shallow.
Backward compatibility is one of the advantages gaming on pc.
can play decade old games without a problem and never have to worry about losing BC when a new gen comes out.
Also you could play games from the nes, snes, n64, ps1, ps2, wii, arcade, etc etc.
PC it really does everything.
PC has the best backward compatibility.
No more loosing old games when a new gen comes out ;-)
i still play warcraft3 at times, best rts ever imo.
Also you could play games from the nes, snes, n64, ps1, ps2, wii, arcade, etc etc.
PC it really does everything.
Barragan works for sony.
@above
i wonder why someone would disagree to comparing screen shots. Afterall if according to Barragan crysis is inferior then there shouldnt be any hesitation to compare screenshots.
oh yea total war was awesome.
so many games on the PC. Its hard to make a top 10. Which is why i mentioned rest of the spots would be reserved for PC games.
The higher resolutions, textures and AA. Ensure even multiplats on the pc beat out top console exclusives.
but but.. the ps3 and the 360 are so powerful, how could they not out do the pc?
Top 10 best looking games for the decade here goes:
1. Crysis warhead
2. Crysis
3. Farcry 2 (pc version)
4. Assassins Creed (pc version)
5. Resident evil 5 (pc version)
6. uncharted 2
rest of the spots would probably be taken up by PC multiplats to many games to fill up this list.
@mikelemonade
becareful what you wish mike, if pc gaming were to die. So will your next gen consoles :P
we cant expect sony or microsoft to come up with next gen gpus can we?
they will need to pick up the left overs from the pc.
The HD(pc) version will be great cant wait.
and why would you assume i dont have a pc :P
pc is the only platform i game on.
sure you will see 60fps and beyond.. but thats only if they decide to drop the graphics quality on games.
larger hardrives will translate to more content.
larger hardrives will not translate to superior graphics, there is only so much you can improve with the limited hardware present on consoles.
We wont be seeing a major bump in graphics until the next gen is out. When i say major i mean graphics difference when comparing a ps2 title with a ps3 title.
sure there will be minor improvements(uncharted vs any ps2 title is a major bump in graphics, unchart...
knowing microsoft they could easily make up for the small discounts offered on the initial package via:
Expensive accessories 100usd for wifi alone, 150usd for a hd (that could be had on pc for quarter the price).
Charge for dlcs usually free on pc.
charge for online, free on other platforms.
Higher prices on games vs pc version
Microsoft has too many ways of milking the user.
will probably be free on the pc version just like all valve dlcs.
there is no way microsoft will let go of an opportunity to milk its base, expect this to be charged on the 360.
8800gtx is 3years old.. and it out does consoles in about every game.
it was out when the ps3 released.
only difference is its cheaper to play on that gpu. plus it can do resolutions ps3 can only dream of.
