xbox is essentially a 3 yr old pc this gen (without the pc exclusives).
though it lags behind the pc in terms of graphics, controls etc, even a 2 yr old pc equipped with a 8800gtx is miles ahead of the xbox 360 in terms of performance.
on the dull side xbox 360 is more costly to play on as compared to a pc:
charges to go online
games cost additional 10-25usd compared to the pc versions
very expensive accessories a wifi will cost you 1...

ps3 comes close in terms of performance sometimes out doing the xbox viceversa, though both of them are pretty much obselete.

gaming laptops are a luxury so sure they worth the premium.
i have a g260m on my sager laptop it runs all the games(asides crysis) @ 1080p around 60fps when hooked up to a hdtv.
though i travel alot and it also comes in handy for work.
id say they are worth the investment if you wanna game on the move.
whats your budget for the gpu?
i would advice you can cut corners on any other part on the pc.. but the gpu. everything heavily depends on this part, nothing will make up for a bad gpu.

we can already build very good mid range pcs for 500usd. as time goes on these costs will drop.
i imagine by the time next gen consoles are out 2012 - 2013, 500usd on a pc will get you alot of power.
now imagine the new console at launch will be atleast 400usd. Every game on the console will cost more then the pc version add in accessories, on line charges. The deal on the pc just seems to get better and better.

pc version of re5 looks darn good.
runs at 60fps+ too even on 2year old rigs.
though for the next RE i would like to see zombies in the game just like the original. They should take some ques from Left 4 dead.
pc gaming just is cheaper and superior to any console.
this is due to the falling prices of pc hardware.. its become very competitive... plus its largely due to the cost of games on the consoles. Consoles just cant compete with the kind of prices pc games have.

hd3200 is kind of old.
i would recommend a gpu upgrade.. even a 150usd gpu will out do what ever the ps3 can for the rest of this gen.. so its a very worthwhile investment.
